Kintail on the Road:Our congregation has the opportunity to host Kintail on the Road fora Monday to Friday Vacation Bible School this summer. We areexcited about offering this fabulous program right here at Knox, BUTwe need someone to organize the event. There is support in place forvolunteers; Camp Kintail does a great job of having staff which leadsthis full day Daily Vacation Bible School. However, there is a need forsomeone or a small team to head up this event. This means being thepoint person to organize the volunteers and to lead the preparationsfor this special event. We need this leadership to step forward in orderto do Kintail on the Road. Please speak with Chantale Pitts, NancyRothwell or Mark Gedcke as soon as possible or we will have to passon this opportunity.
PWS&D Sunday
For 65 years, our church has been actively supporting people in need through
Presbyterian World Service & Development. All over the world, PWS&D works with
vulnerable communities to overcome poverty, oppression and injustice. Sunday,
February 3rd is designated by the national church as PWS&D Sundaya day to
remember those we serve and to reflect on all of the amazing things that happen in
our world through small acts of kindness, generosity, solidarity and love by members
of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Through PWS&D, we reveal our faith and
demonstrate our belief that even amidst the bleakest moments, life prevails over death
and hope is stronger than despair. Thank you for 65 years of prayers and support!

Wedo, though, owe an obligation to the projects supported by thePresbyterian Church in Canada and plans are underway tocontinue to educate members as to opportunities to do this. Oneof the strong points is the knowledge that these projects aremanaged by our Church and the money does reach the areas in
need.

Thursday Morning Group
For the month of February, we meet on Thursdays at 10 AM to wrestle
with questions that connect faith to our daily lives. We gather forabout an hour together in the parlor. We watch a short film featuring
Rob Bell, and then discuss the topic raised using scripture and our
personal experience. Rob Bell is a Christian who is both a writer and a
gifted speaker. Rob Bell was a founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible
Church in Grandville, Michigan from 1999 to 2011.
Here are the questions for the next four Thursdays:
February 7: Do our lives even matter? One of the intriguing thingsabout humans is that we are able to recognize beauty in our world
and in one another. Why is that? Why do we hunger for beauty?
February 14: Does prayer really help?
February 21: Whyare we so afraid of silence?
February 28: Is anger the issue, or is the real problem what you get
angry about?
Our minister, Mark Gedcke, facilitates the group.
