Rom. 13:11 Do this, knowing the time, that is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. v. 8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. The great controversy is nearing its end. Every report of calamity by sea or land is a testimony to the fact that the end of all things is at hand. Wars and rumors of wars declare it. Is there a Christian whose pulse does not beat with quickened action as he anticipates the great events opening before us? The Lord is coming. We hear the footsteps of an approaching God, as He comes to punish the world for its iniquity. We are to prepare the way for Him by acting our part in getting a people ready for that great day. The fearful warning of the prophecy is addressed to every soul. Let no one feel that he is secure from the danger of being surprised. Let no ones interpretation of prophecy rob you of the conviction of the knowledge of events which show that this great event is near at hand. Had no more rapid means of conveyance and communication been found that existed a century ago, it would have been impossible to communicate such a message to one generation. But such a work must be done for the last generation.Then the last generation everywhere must hear the message, and this calls for rapid transit, and lightning couriers to bear the tidings to various parts of the earth. Slide 10 Knowing the time, Time means the critical period or a definite measured, or fixed time for an event to take place a season or special period Slide 11 What is this critical period of time? THE DAY OF OUR SALVATION IT IS NEARER THAN WE FIRST BELIEVED IT DEALS WITH ETENAL LIFE OR ETERNAL DEATH Slide 12 Someone said that there are 3 tenses of salvation; 1.I have been saved justification, takes care of the past. 2.Am being saved sanctification, takes care of the present. 3.And will be saved glorification, still yet to come in the future. Slide 13 v.12 The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside (cast off) the deeds of darkness and put on the armor (weapons) of light. Eph. 4:22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside ( cast off )the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit (lies, things that deceive you). Slide 14 Eph. 4:25 Therefore, laying aside (casting off) falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another. Col. 3:8 But now you also, put them aside: anger, wrath (hot tempers) malice (hatred) slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Slide 15 Heb. 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside (cast off) every encumbrance and sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, THERE IS NO SILVER, BRONZE, SECOND OR THIRD PLACE FINISHERS! WE ALL HAVE TO GET THE GOLD! Slide 16 And put on the armor (weapons) of light. Christians are called out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Pet. 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, a royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR GODs OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Slide 17 We are children of the light 1 Thess. 5:5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; And consequently fight the spiritual battle with weapons of light. Slide 18 v. 13 Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing ( orgies or wild parties) and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality,( the pursuit of physical sexual pleasure) not in strife and jealousy. v. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lust. Slide 19 Acts 2:17 AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS, God says, THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS; Slide 20
