ST. MARY MAGDALEN PARISH COVID-19 RESPONSE &
GUIDELINES
These guidelines have been put in place and will be enforced for the safety of all those attending Mass. As restrictions are added/lifted, we will react accordingly.
Guidelines to follow when attending Mass:
Enter through the front door. You must wear a mask & sanitize your hands upon entering.
Sit in an open pew. There are ropes on pews indicating which ones are closed to ensure proper social distancing (6 feet). You may sit on either side of the pews that are open. There is blue tape in the middle of open pews indicating what 6 feet of social distancing looks like.
Communion will continue to be at the end of mass. We ask that you remain in your seat until an usher dismisses your pew for communion. Those sitting in the larger center pews, proceed to communion as usual up the center aisle once dismissed. After distributing communion to the center aisle, the Eucharistic Ministers will move to the outlining areas for distribution. Once dismissed by an usher, you will go up your aisle to receive communion, then depart. The arrows on the floor have been updated to reflect this change.
After receiving communion, you are to leave church. No gathering is allowed. Exit through the side doors indicated.
On weekends, worship aides & bulletins are available online; only bulletins as you enter & at the side exits.
Reservations are required for our Easter Sunday Masses on April 4th at 8:30am & 10:30am

FASTING AND ABSTINENCE
Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence from meat. The
norms concerning abstinence are binding upon members of the Catholic
Church from age 14 +.
Fasting – The law of fasting requires a Catholic from the 18th birthday (Canon 97) to the 59th birthday (i.e. the beginning of the 60th year, a year which will be completed on the 60th birthday) to reduce the amount of food eaten from normal. The church defines this as 1 meal a day & 2 smaller meals which if added together would not exceed the mail meal in quantity.
(Ash Wednesday & Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence from meat for Catholics.)

PALMS:
Palm Sunday brings out the crafter in every Catholic. It
seems that everyone has something different to do with
them. For new ideas visit: www.catholicicing.com/10-
things-to-do-with-palms-from-palm-sunday/
We’ll start with palm basics:
When you get them at church, they are green and bendable. This is when they’re prime pickin’ for crafts. Once they’re dry, that’s it- you can’t shape them anymore.
The palms are blessed, so when you’re done with them, you can’t put them in the trash. To properly dispose of the palms, they need to be burned, and then the ashes returned to the ground.
What looks like 1 palm is generally 2. They split right apart. For some folds, you leave them together at the bottom, for others you split them apart, and can basically make 2 different things out of the same palm.
