Cont inuing Bottega Veneta ’s t radi t ion of creat ive col laborat ion in producing the brand’s
advert is ing campaigns , Tomas Maier turned to Amer ican photographer David Armstrong
to capture the understated sensual i ty of Knot . Shot on locat ion in New York Ci ty,
the campaign ref lects Armstrong’s d ist inct ive approach to port ra i ture . His painter ly,
natura l ly- l i t images of model Jul ia Nobis , the face of the Knot campaign , are s imul taneously
reserved and int imate , and convey a mood of t imelessness . Her beauty is mul t i - layered
and in photographs she exudes a soul fu l , womanly qual i ty that is st rong yet vu lnerable .
She possesses an innate a l lure and restra int that Tomas Maier fe l t was harmonious
wi th the spi r i t of Bottega Veneta and the embodiment of Knot .

Tomas Maier ’s v is ion for Bottega Veneta ’s new fragrance, Knot , conjures an escape to the

which are open wide , usher ing in a brac ing sal twater breeze t inged wi th the scent of peonies

As with Bottega Veneta ’s s ignature f ragrance, the Knot ’s bott le is inspi red by Venet ian
glasswork and the t radi t ional I ta l ian carafe , hav ing natura l ly evolved unto i tse l f .
Combin ing soft , rounded curves and powerfu l l ines , the bott le is an object of t imeless
beauty and p leasing s impl ic i ty. The bott le ’s oro matte cap is i ts most d ist inct ive design
element ; as the f ragrance’s name is an homage to Bottega Veneta ’s beloved
Knot c lutch , Tomas Maier designed the cap to echo the bag’s iconic knot-shaped c losure .
The resul t is a vessel wi th the luxur ious feel of the f inest of jewelry.

Tomas Maier jo ined Bottega Veneta as Creat ive Director in June 2001.
With long exper ience at the h ighest levels of fashion and design , he arr ived hoping to spark

The sourc ing of only the most extraord inary raw mater ia ls was the v i ta l s tar t ing point
for Knot , in accordance wi th Bottega Veneta ’s abid ing dedicat ion to qual i ty and
craf tsmanship . I t was master perfumer Danie la Andr ier ’s task to t ranslate Tomas Maier ’s v is ion
of a medi tat ive seaside inter lude into a unique o l fact ive exper ience evoking the essence
of the I ta l ian coast l ine , precise ly i l lust rat ing the e lements into d i f ferent accords .
F i rst impressions are shaped by an exot ic and br ight Clement ine Tree accord , based on
mandar in , l imette , nero l i and orange f lower. At the f ragrance’s heart are intense notes
of lavender, a key aspect and unusual addi t ion that lends to the uniqueness of the f ragrance,
gestur ing toward the green h i l ls , and the sense of cr ispness reminiscent of f reshly
laundered l inens wi th in an I ta l ian seaside home. Rich f lora l notes of rose and peony prov ide
lush sensual i ty, whi le musk and Tonka bean serve as a counterpoint to the f ru i ty notes
whi le embuing a l inger ing texture and earth iness . Al l together, the br ight , f lora l
f ragrance is met icu lously layered to offer an unexpected , del ightfu l exper ience; an ident i ty
of i ts own, that is dest ined to leave a last ing memory.
For Bottega Veneta , co l laborat ion is celebrated in pract ice and approach, over t ime hav ing
become a def in ing e lement of the house. Now, as a resul t of the c lose col laborat ion between
Maier and Andr ier, comes the int roduct ion of the complex and a l lur ing Knot .
