Brothers I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and arelooking forward to a rewarding New Year There has not been much activity over the holidays buta few things did happen that I found surprising andblessings

We had everything we needed for the ThanksgivingDistribution of the Turkey Dinners for the lessfortunate and thanks to the Knights and their familiesthat volunteered I believe they were all rewarded withThanks from The St Vincent de Paul Societymembers but also with the feelings of satisfaction thatwe were helping those less fortunate then us Now the surprise we were running short of vegetablesand the fixings that SVDP provides along with theturkeys at Christmas Out of nowhere a group of FarEast Indians most if not all are non-Christian Hinduscame forward and made it known they were interestedin contributing needed non-meat Hindus are primarilyvegetarian no turkeys no stuffing and no gravyfixings They were told we were running short ofvegetables mash potatoes and Jell-O They offeredto provide 100 cans of Green Beans and 100 cans ofcorn like quantities of mashed potatoes and Jell-Othey actually donated 200 of each They helped us putthe boxes of food together and helped on thedistribution Hopefully we will have all of the committees setupThe Knights of Columbus have some definedcommittees identified and although in the past wehave identified Directors for the various committees

they didnrsquot really accomplish anything Hopefully wewill have more responsibilities shared for the needs ofthe Council I canrsquot do everything remember all of youyoung wiper snappers Irsquom an old man Really I thinkthe duties can be shared and we will be a betterCouncil See you Wednesday Jan 8 and if you are interestedin the Organization meeting we will be meetingTuesday Jan 7 at the Flanniganrsquos on Weston Rdmeeting at 700 if you are interested in moving theCouncil forward come out all are welcome VIVAT JESUS Larry BossmanGrand Knight Council 12240 St Bonaventure Catholic Church1301 SW 136th AveDavie FL 33326
