Message from Grand Knight: Ron Warner

Brother Knights, Luke 15:1- The Prodigal Son In this story a father has 2 sons. The younger one ask his father for his inheritance now and his father grants his request. However, the son is prodigal (i.e. wasteful and extravagant) and squandered his fortune eventually becoming destitute. The son is forced to return home empty-handed and broken. He intends to beg his father to accept him back as a servant such as a swine herder which is an unclean animal worker. To his son’s surprise, he is not scolded but welcomed with open arms. The older son is envious and refuses to participate in the festivities his father has arranged in order to celebrate his brother’s return. The father reminds the older son that he will inherit the all of his wealth and should celebrate the return of his lost brother. We all know this story, but something you might not know. At that time, it was a total disgrace for the family to allow something like this to happen. The father was well respected and a leader of his community. Therefore, not only did the son take the money and waste it, but also

COUNCIL MESSAGES made his family a laughing

stock of the community. His father and older brother had to endure the shameless acts of the younger son. The point is each day we are called to listen to our heart. But, we look at what others might think and try to live up to their standards. It is very hard to just listen and do what the Lord ask us to do. Our Oktoberfest event is fast approaching (Sat., 10-13). We can always use any and all help. If working a dinner event is not for you, come and enjoy a meal with us and other parishioners. (see attached flyer for details) See attached flyer relating Women's Help Center Topgolf Tournament Charity Event We will be having spaghetti and meatballs as our meal before our meeting. We will start serving at 6PM. Note: Due to All Saints’ Day being on the first Thursday (Nov. 1st) next month, we will move our meeting to the 2nd Thursday (Nov. 8th). Vivat Jesus, Brother Ron Warner Grand Knight

Message from Insurance Field Agent: John F. Molley Ways to Pay for Whole Life We live in a world of options and we are constantly bombarded by choices. Some of these make our lives more complicated, but many of these choices are created with our satisfaction in mind. At the Knights of Columbus, every product we offer has been designed solely for the benefit of our members and their families. When I present an option to you, it’s because a team of experts has discussed it at length to be certain it serves your best interest. We have a few options on how you can provide and pay for the whole life coverage that your family needs. Many whole life policies call for premiums to be paid for your entire life or to age 100. But, we also offer permanent life coverage with guaranteed cash values (and the potential to earn dividends, which are not guaranteed) through policies that offer a limited period of premium payments. First, we offer “10 Pay Life” and “20 Pay Life.” Consider paying premiums for 10 or 20 years, and never having to pay for the coverage again. The plan is “paid up” and no more premiums are due. The plan stays in force, the death benefit remains intact and the guaranteed cash value continues to grow.

COUNCIL MESSAGES A plan with similar benefits is

“Life Paid Up at 65.” The difference over 10 or 20 Pay Life plans is that this permanent product requires you to pay premiums until age 65. Then, premiums stop (just in time for retirement), but the plan remains in force. Finally, the ultimate in limited pay is our Single Premium Life product. Imagine buying life insurance – permanent life insurance – and only paying one single premium? It’s possible. To learn more about this, and/or our long-term care insurance, and/or our disability income insurance, and/or retirement products, please call me at 904-612-6357 to schedule a FREE, no obligation appointment. John F. Molley 904-612-6357 [email protected] Ask Eligible Men to Join Today, I want to address the growth of the Order. Membership growth is the fuel that keeps this great fraternal engine running. All of our charitable works at the council, state, national and international level are thanks to our hard-working members. And more members equals more charity. We know that the membership blitz is a tried and true way for councils to get more men to join. We see these pushes often in March, in celebration of Founder’s Day, and again in October.

These drives are successful because Brother Knights have increased visibility speaking or presenting during and after Masses and at special events. We must remember that we have a duty to ask each and every Catholic gentleman to join our ranks for the good of the Church, the community and the Order.

During the rest of the year, we often “forget” to ask men to join and to bring their families into the Knights of Columbus family. You probably know an eligible Catholic man you could ask today. What if the only reason he hasn’t joined is because no one has asked him yet?

When telling a prospect about the strengths of the Order, don’t forget our greatest fraternal benefit: our insurance program. This is often a “selling point” to a potential member who is on the fence. Many members become Knights simply to be able to buy coverage to protect their family. Soon after, they realize the good our charitable works do for their community, and they are proud to be members.

As your professional Knights of Columbus insurance agent, I look forward to helping us grow in fraternity in any way that I can.
