Photovoltaic – Trainingsystem for vocational and advanced training
plus module stand. Using a dimmable spotlightwhich is vertically as well as horizontally movablefixed to an outrigger, seasonal daily curves caneasily be simulated.
Additional options are the change of slope angleand the simulation of the influence of irradiation andtemperature on the characteristic curve of a PV-module.
To ensure a reproducibility of measurements andnot to depend on the weather, a PV-modulesimulator was developed, which exactly simulatesthe behaviour of a PV-module. The short circuitcurrent can be adjusted.
What a pupil ortrainee can workout on his own inpractice orientedlabscale experim-ents, is trans-ferable to realsystems withoutproblems.
The Solar branchis one of theimportant growthmarket of thef u r t u r e . T h enumber of jobsg r o w s , t h ed e m a n d o fspecialists andexecutive staffsi n c r e a s e scontinuous.For this reasonwor ldwide thevocational andadvanced trainingin the field ofphotovoliiac willbecome more andmore important.

Construction
In cooperation with the ISET - Institut für SolareEnergieversorgungstechnik e. V. (now: Frauen-hofer Institut für Windenergie und Energiesystem-technik IWES) in Kassel the company IKS Photo-voltaik developed the Photovoltaic-TrainingsystemSolartrainer profi.
The PV-Trainingsystem is suited for the instructionschools, vocational training Schools, training
centres, evening classes and universities.Supported learning objectives can be electrical andsystem engineering , construction, mode ofoperation, connecting and installation of PV-plants.It can be used both to the supplementarydemonstration of lessons and courses as well as forthe use in practical training
The system consists of individual plugin units eachwith components for different experimentalarrangements. The plugin units are put in therackside and connected according to the demand. The conception of the system allows indoor andoutdoor experimentsIndoor experiments are easily possible amongothers because of the system included PV-module

Some user report on practical experiences:

One device - double benefit: Innovative PV measurement equipment foruse at the training system and at real PV plants
PV vocational education and training
Double benefit
The particular feature: The newly into the PVtraining system integrated Photovol ta icmeasurement equipment can be used afterwardsfor measurments and tests at real photovoltaicinstallations.Asystem with double benefit. Becauseas always before we have focused on a highpract ical relevance when select ing thecomponents.
However, this also means that this subject has to bean integral part of the vocational education andtraining in the field of photovoltaic. A development, that was taken up with our latest product innovation. The well-known PV training system SolartrainerProfi was expanded with a measurementequipment, consisting of an innovative multifunctioninstrument, remote datalogger with radiotransmission, transducer clamps and an ISETSensor irradiation sensor with dimmable halogenspot for setting of irradiation values, as well aspractice-oriented didactic materials.
The PV training system Solartrainer Profi forvocational education and training wasexpanded with an innovative Photovoltaicmeasurement equipment
The background: Today PV plants are working veryreliable. Nevertheless they often generate only apart of the maximum possible power. The causesare multible and it is not rare that they can be tracedback before the period of the actual installation.Because even on the way to the installation sitemicro cracks can arise because of incorrect storageor as a result of incautious transport. The microcracks cannot be seen with the naked eye, howeverthe consequences have far reaching implications:If water has penetrated or soldered bonds wereinterrupted the efficiency of solar modules can benoticeable reduced. The financial losses for privateoperators as well as investors in large solar systemsmay be substancial. In practice the possibility ofmonitoring the characteristic curves of single solarmodules, strings and the test of completephotovoltaic installations becomes more and moreimportant.
