NASA The educational trip during the summer holidays was indeed a memorable one. We visited various places in USA. The trip lasted for 13 days. We started our journey on 29th April. Twelve of us went on this trip and we were accompanied by our Academic Coordinator, Mrs. Suma H R. We visited many places, name-ly Miami Beach in Florida, Disney Magic Kingdom, NASA Space Center, Universal Studios, Orlando, Niag-ara Falls, Hershey’s Chocolate Factory, White House, Lincoln's Memorial, Liberty Island, The statue of Liberty at New York and finally Times Square where we did unlimited shopping.

At Disney Kingdom we enjoyed several rides and had a lot of fun. The place glittered with lightings in the night. At NASA Base we saw the Atlantis Spaceship.

We were fortunate to climb the tallest building in New York. We could see the entire city from the 110th floor. It was just amazing and captivated our minds. New York was a vibrant city filled with lights, bright and crowded.

Oh! The Niagara falls was a treat to the eyes. A kind of falls which we have never seen before anywhere. The noise made by the water still vibrates in our ears. We also went into the Battle ship, and saw how it really looks from inside. We could gather a lot of information on how it works and its capacity.

All of us enjoyed the trip to the fullest extent. We were so happy with our experiences gathered at NASA, standing next to the rockets that went to the moon. We all went back home with rich memories from USA, which still sails in the surface of our heart.

International Yoga Day 2019

Yoga was originated in India during ancient times by the yogis. The literal meaning of ‘Yoga’ is union and discipline. It is a system of raising your ability to perceive , to enhance and to realize your ultimate nature. Yoga is a gift to hu-manity. It leads to the healthy development of mind, body and soul.

International Yoga Day was celebrated through out the world for the first time on 21st June 2015. The declaration was

done after the call by our Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to the United Nations General Assembly on 27

th September 2014 during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.

As a part of the International Yoga Day the students of KLE Society’s School, Nagarbhavi gave a glimpse of various yogasanas to all the students and staff and spread the serene message to all that Yoga in everyday life is one of the healthiest practice people can ever make. The students perfectly performed yogasanas like Trikonasana, Vrikshasana, Padamasana, Ustrasana. Navakasana,Bhujungasana and many more citing the immense benefits of practicing each yogasana in one’s daily life . The audience rightly realized that the very heart of a yoga practice is ‘ abhyasa’ – a steady effort in the direction you want to go. It was an awareness spread that yoga is the best healer to ones physical and mental illness.

‘Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self’.

Election and its process

Election is like a sapling sown with care and love by teachers and grows and sparkles with students taking up their duties with responsibilities on Investiture Ceremony. Election in our school started by students filing and submitting the nomination form. This year, our school had come up with an innovative eco-friendly idea by making this process online. The students participated with great enthusiasm and spirit. The next step was campaigning. The nominated students campaigned whole heartedly. They made many creative posters as colourful as flowers and as beautiful as nature. They came up with many slogans and creative ideas to campaign. Then finally the Election Day arrived. It was like a festival celebrated in our school. All the students casted their votes on this optimistic day. In our school voting/electing process is also mechanised. After the election day, the school was covered with a cloud of fear, suspense and eagerness. Finally, the results were announced where we got a surprise, there were Junior Prefects, Head Boy and Head Girl who were selected. It was a modernized step put forward by the school. The last step of this process was the Investiture Ceremony.

Karate is a martial art developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom. It developed from the indigenous Ryukyuan martial arts under the influence of Chinese Kung Fu, particularly Fujian White Crane. Karate is very well known as a system of self-defense where there is consistent and strenuous training of punches and kicks.

Martial arts as an educational system is of paramount importance for eve-rybody especially for kids. Karate benefits kids at every aspect of their lives – physical, mental, spiritual and emotional. Why Fit in When You Are Born to Stand Out

“By being yourself, you put something new and beautiful into the world that was not there before”.

In general, ‘being yourself’ means being true to your core identity rather than counterfeit a different personality just because you think it will be at-tractive to others. Being the ideal ‘you’ will make you a happier person than being a people’s pleaser.

In the race for outer appearances, we leave behind the most important thing in life. It is our inner beauty which can be nurtured only by being who you are and not faking your identity. The most important goal in life is peace of mind. These objectives are very hard to attain if you are try to live by someone else’s rules. This is why you must be yourself and do exactly what you love in order to have a happy life.

The inner goodness and deception are constantly at war with each other, which one you encourage to win is what makes the difference. This is an important concept to realize because you will never please yourself, if you are constantly trying to please others.

To be beautiful is to be yourself. You need not try to act like others, in or-der to be accepted by others. We have to tear ourselves apart from the boring life cycle and explore your true interests. God has made each one of us different. We were given uniqueness for a purpose and that is to stand out. You have to make yourself strong enough to face the world that is filled with people who want to push you down each time you try to get back on your feet.

The inner peace you get is priceless. Remember even if you are crushed by anyone, you will never lose your worth because you are unique.

So, stay true to yourself and you will end up incredibly happy.

‘KNOWLEDGE IS POWER’

Desire for power is inherent in man. The love of power comes from the consciousness of man’s mental and moral superiority over the created things.

It is instinctive; therefore, that man as superior being must control and dominate others. Again the awareness that all men are created unequal gives birth to desire to rule and dominate others. The history of the world, so far as man is concerned, is a history of the struggle for power. Thus from the primitive wars of tribes and clans to the ruinous wars of today, there is only one idea behind these wars and that is the thirst for power.

Broadly speaking, power is of two kinds, physical and mental. Physical power is of the lower order as compared to power of mind. Primitive men mainly understood one kind of power and that was of the body. In the past, the strength of the arms decided things and might alone was right. However, with the growth of civilization and the development of human mind, the mental power came to be recognised as of a superior order. Mental power has its origin in knowledge.

When man first appeared on the earth, he was no better than animals. He was also the beast of prey and was a helpless being, a victim of the wild beast and the hostile forces of nature. But God endowed him with an intelligent mind and this mind ultimately came to his rescue. He discovered fire and learnt its us-es and this knowledge of use of fire gave him power. Similarly, knowledge of other elements and things gradually made him strong. In course of time, his knowledge has achieved wonders in the world and giv-en man mastery over many things.

All the great discoveries and inventions on which modern life is based are the manifestations of the pow-er of knowledge. The conquest of the forces of nature like water and electricity and harnessing of these forces for man’s use, have been made possible by the knowledge of physics. It is knowledge of mechan-ics which has lessened the distance, broken down the barriers between men and enabled men to realise the affinity of men all over the world. The epoch-making discovery of atomic energy has revolutionalised the entire concept of future life of man on the earth. Today completely strides made by man in the field of science are the results of knowledge and perpetual search of wisdom combined with the hunger of power to rule and dominate.

In fact, the development of art, science, culture and civilization, ultimately depends upon knowledge. Na-ture has yielded her mysteries to this power. It has made physical power and mental strength to one and same. But knowledge has not only given man mental strength, it has taught him how to utilise his physi-cal strength in a better, surer and more and more disciplined and economic way.

Great ideas make great men and there is no trait more constant in human nature than his habit of pursu-

ing a truth beyond its province. Hence balance is the cardinal virtue of good sense. Great as is the power

of knowledge, the tendency to misuse is greater. Knowledge is inclined to fill us with pride and thus take

its real blessings. The need is to translate knowledge into wisdom, for knowledge is proud and wisdom is

humble. It is only when we have realised this that we understand the significance of knowledge that is

power, and get the desire to acquire that knowledge which enables us to find truth. We must pursue

knowledge to its outmost form, ‘Half knowledge is a dangerous thing; Drink deep or taste not the Pierian

spring.’
