Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (4) screws from the top-inside edge of the dash trim bezel. Remove (5) screws from both sides of the steering column. Remove (3) Phillips screws securing the rocker-switch housing and lift the housing out. Remove the bezel.

Remove the hardware securing the factory mounting brackets to the factory head unit. Remove and retain the brackets. Skip to the Installation Instructions for ALL VEHICLES on Page #34.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Unsnap the climate control trim bezel and remove (4) star-drive screws exposed. Pull the steering collar back and carefully unsnap the dash trim bezel.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove the radio knobs and cigarette lighter. Gently unclip the radio trim bezel and remove.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (2) torx-head screws above the instrument panel. Remove (1) torx-head screw from each a/c vent. Unclip the dash trim bezel and remove.

Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adaptor and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit).

Re-connect the battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. Mount the head unit/kit assembly to the sub-dash with those screws previously removed.

2-SHAFT HEAD UNITS: Slide the aftermarket head unit into the kit and secure with shaft nuts. (see Fig. A)

DIN HEAD UNITS: Cut and remove the shaft supports. Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. Slide the aftermarket head unit into the cage until secure. (see Fig. B)

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Carefully pull and remove the dash trim bezel. Remove (4) screws securing the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (2) torx-head screws above the instrument cluster and (1) torx-head screw from each a/c vent. Unsnap the panel.

Choose a Faceplate (according to the desired installation depth) and snap it onto the front of the Radio Housing. (If an equalizer will be included in the installation, the Equalizer Faceplate must be used).

TOP AND/OR BOTTOM MOUNTING BRACKETS: Mount the Equalizer Brackets to the Radio Housing with (2) Carriage Bolts and (2) Keps Nuts. Secure the Mounting Bracket(s) to the Housing with Carriage Bolts and Keps Nuts. (see Fig. A)

SIDE MOUNTING BRACKETS: Secure the Mounting Brackets to the Radio Housing (through the center holes) with (2) Carriage Bolts and (2) Keps Nuts. (see Fig. B)

Slide the Equalizer Brackets into the slots along the inner walls of the Radio Housing.

Cut and remove all mounting tabs on Bracket #6 EXCEPT tabs "A". The mounting tabs can be identified by the stamped letter on the back of each tab. Skip to the Installation Instructions for ALL VEHICLES on Page #34.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Gently unclip the dash trim bezel. Remove (2) screws from the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove the glove box by removing the doorstrap wire clip and (4) screws. Remove (2) screws below the cigarette lighter housing and (3) screws below the steering column. Remove (1) screw from the top-left of the factory head unit and unclip the dash trim bezel.

BUICK Skyhawk / OLDSMOBILE Firenza 1982-89

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (2) screws from the driver's side service panel and unclip the panel. Pry off the trim piece located above the glove box and remove (1) screw. Remove (3) screws from the top edge of the dash trim bezel. Remove (1) screw from the lower-left corner of the glove box and (1) screw from the parking brake release. Remove the dash trim bezel.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Open the glove box and remove (2) Phillips screws exposed on the right edge of the radio trim bezel. Unclip the bezel and remove. Remove (2) 7mm hex-head screws securing the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Using a small set of pliers, grasp the retaining clip on the back of the gear shifter handle and remove the clip. Remove the gear shifter handle. Unclip the center console and remove. Remove (2) 7mm hex-head screws exposed under the climate controls. Unclip the radio trim bezel and remove. Remove (2) 7mm hex-head screws securing the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Unclip the entire dash trim bezel. Remove the screws securing the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (1) 9/32" hex-head screw from the computer diagnostic plug and twist to access (1) 9/32" screw on the trim panel. Remove (3) 9/32" screws from the bottom edge of the panel and remove. Open the glove box and remove (4) 9/32" screws from the dash trim bezel.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Pull out on the ashtray and remove (2) screws exposed in the ashtray cavity. Remove (2) screws securing the front of the ashtray and lower section of the dash trim bezel. Using a panel removal tool, gently pry out on the trim bezel and remove. Remove (2) nuts from the bottom of the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (2) screws from the top of the radio trim bezel. Pull out on the top edge of the bezel and lift up to remove.

Remove (4) screws from the metal steering column trim and remove the trim. Remove (4) screws exposed at the bottom edge of the dash trim bezel. Remove the cigarette lighter and retainer ring and remove the dash trim bezel.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (2) Phillips screws from the pocket. Remove (2) Phillips screws above the instrument cluster. Unclip the dash trim bezel and remove. Remove (3) 7mm hex-head screws securing the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove the steering column filler panel and the ashtray. Unclip the dash trim bezel and remove. Using a small flat-blade screwdriver, press down on the outer clips of the factory head unit (or pocket). Disconnect the wiring and remove the unit.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (2) screws from the bottom of the dash trim bezel. Gently unclip and remove the bezel. Remove (4) screws from the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

CHEVROLET Astro / GMC Safari 1990-95

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (3) Phillips screws from the top portion of the dash trim bezel. Open the glove box and remove (2) 10mm bolts from the lower edge of the trim bezel. Pull the console trim forward and remove (2) 7mm bolts exposed. Gently unclip and remove the trim bezel. Remove (2) 7mm screws from the factory head unit and disconnect the wiring.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (6) 7mm hex-head screws from the driver's side knee bolster panel and lower the panel. Remove (4) Phillips screws from the glove box/cupholder assembly. Remove (1) 7mm hex-head screw from the left corner of the dash trim bezel. Loosen (2) 10mm nuts from the top of the factory head unit, slide the unit out and disconnect the wiring.

Remove the glove box compartment by depressing the clip on the bottom of the glove box liner and removing (6) nuts exposed above the opening. Remove (6) Phillips screws below the steering column. Grasp the lighter socket, unscrew the brass nut on the back of the lighter and remove the socket. Remove the dash trim bezel and disconnect the wiring.
