Encapsulation & StabilizationHow does the X55 product work?The proprietary product when applied to or mixed with a base material (like concrete) undergoes a crystallisation reaction into this base materials matrix. This creates a long lasting barrier that has been shown to be chemically resistant to organic and inorganic contaminants, acids, weathering effects like temperature, increases in air pollutants, and salinity that could result in erosion of the base material. The barrier acts to encapsulate and stabilize the contaminants allowing for:

1. Restricting leaching/movement of the contaminant into the environment, allowing for ongoing use of thecontaminated source area; 2. Controlled-encapsulation and stabilization ofcontaminants such that impacted materials can be reused/recycled onsite; or3. Disposal offsite of impacted materials at a licenced disposal facility.

Product Application The product is applied through a process of:

A. Mixing into base material – soil, concrete, solid waste material – numerous ways are in development;B. It can be sprayed on, or applied onto materials as a paste.

Flexibility of product application allows use in hard to reach impacted areas such as pits, piping, culverts, tanks, etc.

X55 Product has been tested in various conditions, including acidic (acid landfill leachate), neutral (ongoing site use), basic (basic landfill leachate).Application results have shown reductions in leaching of PFOS into the environment of up to 90+% and post contaminationleaching below the present regulatory guidelines for drinking water.

X55 has no equal in the market place!The X55 technology applies a proprietary product with proven applications over decades across the globe. The product has been used to providesolutions to primary and secondary containment issues for a wide range of chemicals. It has been shown to be adaptable to the unique purpose ofmanaging, encapsulating and/or stabilizing source contamination .

REGULATORY APPROVALS - Encapsulation and/or stabilisation are proven technologies which is an important consideration when obtaining approvals and aligning the appropriate regulator(s) to this environmental solution. Regulators across various jurisdictions have been involved in the X55 program and will provide credible support.

Highly resistant to aggressive chemicals.

Non-Toxic – applied in municipal water plants, drinking water situations for decades.

Permanent - Not readily subject to deterioration.

Extreme conditions – used in up to 730 degrees Celsius conditions.

Impregnates and becomes an integral part of the substrate – penetrates up to 30 cm into concrete.

Not affected by weather changes – i.e. dramatic temperature changes or rain events – product used in all environments around the world.

Resists extreme hydrostatic pressure (waterproof-ing); continued use of structure after application.

Skid resistant – when applied to concrete in high traffic areas provides highest level of slippage control.
