Double-Take Move Cloud Migration Center (CMC)

Cloud Migration Center (CMC) – Solution Overview

Double-‐Take  Cloud  MigraFon  Center  automates  migraFons  of  Windows  servers  from  any  source  environment  (physical,  virtual,  or  cloud)  into  AWS  clouds.

CMC  was  built  on  top  of  DT  Move,  so  it  provides  real-‐&me  replica&on  of  the  changes  occurring  on  the  source.  This  allows  for  near-‐zero  down&me  migraFons.

CMC’s  automated  discovery  process  supports  finding  servers  in  VMware  vCloud  Director  and  vSphere  environments,  Amazon  Web  Services  EC2  Instances  and  Windows  Servers  listed  in  AcFve  Directory.  Manually  adding  servers  via  IP  address  is  supported  as  well.

The Best HA/DR Solution for Today’s Enterprise

HA/DR Pain Points

•  Downtime

•  Data Loss

•  Heterogeneous or Hybrid Data Centers

•  Eliminate Vendor Lock-In

•  Regulatory and Compliance Concerns

Double-Take Availability: How HA Works

Double-‐Take

•  EnFre  Source  protected:  data  and  system  state

•  Double-‐Take  replicates  byte-‐level  changes  conFnuously

•  Target  conFnuously  synchronizes  replica  (data  and  system  state)

•  Monitors  Source  health  for  failures,  prepared  to  failover  if  needed

Double-Take Availability: How HA Works

Produc&on/Source  Server   HA/DR/Target  Server

Double-‐Take

•  Detects  failure  and  manages  failover  process,  including  system  state  merge

•  Merges  the  replica  System  State  info  into  the  Target’s  System  State,  overwriFng  the  non-‐hardware  info

•  Source  down  –  planned  or  unplanned

Double-Take Availability: How HA Works

Produc&on/Source  Server   HA/DR/Target  Server

•  Once  the  System  State  merge  is  complete  the  Target  Server  reboots

•  Target  completely  assumes  Source  logical  idenFty  (SID,  GUID,  Name,  Apps  and  OS  configuraFon,  etc.)
