Dear Parents, Staff and Students,
Today we congratulate the members of our Choir and Dance
groups who represented our school at Sunfest on Saturday. We
are all very proud of your efforts both on the day and during the
hard work in preparing for your performances. This was recog-
nised by the judges with the Choir awarded runners up in the
‘Battle of The Choirs’ and Dance group achieving best school
in the Parade. Thank you to the staff and families who turned
up to support our students on the day.
Up until 3rd April for every $10 spent at Coles you will re-
ceive a Sports for School voucher. Please bring the vouchers
to school and place them in the collection box at the office.
Please tell all your friends and family that our school is collect-
ing the vouchers.
Thank you to families who have already volunteered to assist
with watering of our new garden areas. We will be in touch
early next week with further details. If you are able to assist on
weekends or during the upcoming holidays please call the of-
fice on 97444566 to have your name put on our roster.
The following office bearers were elected at Monday night’s
meeting:
President: Glenn Campbell
Vice President: Sean Bassett
Treasurer : Misharna Small
Secretary: Vanessa Leetch
A twelve month casual vacancy to replace retired member
Mark Davies was filled by Aaron Malcolm.
We would like to thank retiring members Mark Davies and
David McLean for their support over the past few years.
Many families wonder ‘How much screen time should I allow
my child?’ Along with today’s newsletter we have sent home
the Michael Grose Parenting Ideas article ‘Getting The Screen
Time Balance right’ which we hope you will find useful in
your household.
Thank you to all who have been busily gathering sponsors
for next week’s ‘Kismet Colour Challenge’. The prize for
the class that raises the most money is very close and hotly
contested.
We have included a schedule for the day below for all who
are keen to come along and see all the fun taking place.
As part of our Kismet Colour Challenge and obstacle
course, we are declaring a (free) casual clothes day for the
last day of Term 1. Children are encouraged to come
dressed in a white or light coloured t-shirt to get the most
out of the Colour Challenge! And a quick reminder to pack
a towel in your child's bag on this day if possible. All spon-
sorship forms and money is due in no later than Thursday
29th March please.
The times below provide n general indication of times for
the ‘Obstacool Course’ and Colour Challenge. Please be
aware that times may vary according to a range of factors
throughout the day.
We hope to see you there to cheer our students on! For
safety and to assist with maintaining our schedule we ask
all spectators to remain in designated viewing areas and to
follow any instructions / requests from staff or event volun-
teers. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated!
Go BLUES!!

Kismet Park Primary School is committed to child safety. As
a community we want children to be safe, happy and empow-
ered. We support and respect all children, as well as our staff
and volunteers. We are committed to the safety, participation
and empowerment of all children. There is zero tolerance of
child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be
treated very seriously and consistently with our robust policies
and procedures. We meet our legal and moral obligations to
contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s
safety, which we follow rigorously.
Our school is committed to regularly training and educating
our staff and volunteers on child abuse risks. As a com-
munity we support and respect all children, as well as our staff
and volunteers.
At Kismet Park Primary School:
· Everyone connected to our school can help children be safe.
· We have zero tolerance for any abuse of children.
· We already have policies and processes in place to protect
the care, safety and welfare of children.
· There are clear boundaries about how adults in our school
community may interact with the children. These are set out
in our school’s Child Safe Code of Conduct which, along
with our Child Safe Policy and other Child Safe related
documents are available on our school website.
