kirkland & ellis hrc innovation award 2009 presentation
DESCRIPTION
Building upon a long history of supporting GLBT and other diverse student organizations, in 2007 Kirkland’s Firmwide Diversity Committee pioneered the creation of a formal initiative to reach out to diverse law students across the country. Coined the “ALLSA” Initiative, an inclusive term reflective of the program’s mission to reach out to racial, ethnic, women’s, and GLBT student groups (i.e. BLSA, APALSA, OUTLaw, etc.), the program acts to foster a sense of community among GLBT attorneys and law students, increase the visibility of GLBT attorneys on law school campuses, create mentoring relationships with GLBT students, and open unique conduits for professional development.TRANSCRIPT
