Project OverviewTo meet the growing demand for drinking water in the region, Metro Vancouver is constructing the Kennedy Newton Water Main in the City of Surrey. Construction of this new water main has been phased over several years due to the length of the water main, which is approximately nine kilometres long.

When complete, this new water main will supply drinking water to communities south of the Fraser River.

WATER

Upcoming Activities Construction work for this project will include:

• Delivering equipment, steel pipe, gravel and other materials to the construction site

• Cutting pavement, excavating a trench and installing a 1.8 metre diameter pipe

• Welding and coating the pipe joints, backfilling the trench and compacting gravel

• Installing new underground valve chambers

• Performing testing and cleaning before the water main is connected to the existing water distribution system

• Restoring all work areas to similar or better condition

Hours of Work and Noise

Typical Hours of Work Monday – Saturday 7 AM – 6 PM

There will be some noise associated with this work. Crews will make every effort to minimize noise where possible. All work will comply with City of Surrey bylaws or granted bylaw variances.

Access to cul de sacs will be maintained as much as possible throughout construction; however there may be a period of up to 24 hours when construction activities will prevent vehicle access. Residents will be given 24–48 hours of notice prior to the restricted access. The project’s Community Liaison Officer (CLO) is available to work with you in advance of construction to discuss alternative options for access.

Please contact us if you have any mobility issues; our CLO will be able to work with you to discuss options for maintaining access.

A temporary access road will be put in place to connect the two cul de sacs between 73A Avenue and 74 Avenue (please see map at right). This temporary connection will provide access to several homes in the area.

Street parking will be restricted within the 200 metre construction zone.

Please follow the direction of traffic control personnel and detour route signs near the construction area.

Emergency services access will be maintained at all times.

Driveway Access Restrictions, Traffic Impacts and Access

There will be full road closures along the alignment route in 200 metre construction zones (please see map below). As a result, access to residents driveways will be restricted for up to three weeks, cars will need to be parked outside of the construction zone.

ਪਧਹਲੇ ਭਾਗ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਜੋ ਧਕ 72 ਐਵੀਧਨਊ ਤੋਂ 84 ਐਵੀਧਨਊ ਤੱਕ 122 ਏ ਸਟਰੀਟ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ, ਪਤੜਰ 2019 ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ 2021 ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਹੈ (ਵਧੇਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਨਕਸਾ ਦੇਖੋ)। ਸਾਰੀ ਵਾਟਰ ਮੇਨ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ 2024 ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਧਵਧੀਆ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਧਵਧੀਆ: • ਉਸਾਰੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਧਵੱਚ, ਸਟੀਲ ਪਈਪਾਂ, ਬੱਜਰੀ,

ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਪਹ਼ੁੰ ਚਉਣਾ।

• ਸੜਕ ਦਾ ਕੱਟਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਡੂੰ ਘੀ ਖਾਟੀ ਪ਼ੁੱਟਣਾ ਤਾਂ ਧਕ 1.8 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਾਈਪ ਦਧਬਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।

• ਵੈਲਧਡੰਗ, ਪਾਈਪ ਜੌੜਨਾ, ਟੋਇਆਂ ਨੰੂ ਪੂਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਦ਼ੁਬਾਰਾ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੰੂ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ।

• ਧਰਤੀ ਥੱਲੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਾਲਵ ਚੈਂਬਰ ਨੱਪਣੇ।

• ਵਾਟਰ ਮੇਨ ਨੰੂ ਚੈਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਧਹਲੀ ਪਾਈਪ ਲਾਈਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨਾ।

• ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੰੂ ਪਧਹਲਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਜਾ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਧਹੱਤਰ ਬਨਾੳਣਾਂ।

ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੌਰ

ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਨੀਵਾਰ ਤੱਕ ਸਵੇਰੇ 7 ਵਜੇ ਤੋ ਸਾਮੀ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ।

ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹ਼ੁੰ ਦੇ ਮਸੀਨਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਰ ਨੰੂ ਘੱਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸਾਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਰੀ ਸਧਹਰ ਦੇ ਧਨਯਮਾਂ ਅਨ਼ੁਸਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
