Good afternoon!
It has been a busy week here at KJH! Our KJH Student Leadership Team
enjoyed a full day of team building activities at Camp Kern, we celebrated
our students of the quarter at our Kings Celebration and tonight the Student
Leadership Team is proud to present Teen Knight Out! The event will fea-
ture a fun filled night with 3 on 3 basketball, dodgeball, dance music, karao-
ke, a cupcake walk, games, pizza, concession stand, and more! The event
will run from 7-10:00 pm at KJH. Tickets can still be purchased at the door.
Tickets include admission and a pizza snack. Don’t miss out on this fun to-
night! Check out our Facebook Page throughout the evening for fun pics.
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. A separate letter home has been emailed
detailing what will be highlighted. Additional resources and information is
also provided in the newsletter. We hope our efforts leave a lasting impres-
sion on our students and empower them to continue to make the right choic-
es.
Our quarter 1 report cards will be available to view on Progress Book begin-
ning today at 3:00. With the end of this reporting period we will also be
cleaning out our lost and found and donating any remaining items at the
conclusion of next week. Please encourage your student to take a look at
this if they are missing anything.
Please also make sure you read through the new attendance policy. This
was emailed by the district yesterday and I have included a copy in our
newsletter as well.
Have a great weekend!

The Car Talk section will feature a list of up-to-date topics that we recommend you engage in conversation
with your student about. They may be about the latest events happening in the building, new social media
apps, topics related to our Character Education activities, etc. These conversations are not meant to be
lengthy, but ideal for places like car rides home from school or practices. We hope this list of topics will help
to facilitate ongoing dialogue with your son or daughter to keep you "in the know" with what is happening
from their perspectives.
1) What does the term “keyboard courage” mean to you?
2) How can you be the change in social media bullying?
3) Do you think that you are a success achiever or a failure avoider and why?
4) What was a time that you were brave?
