This term they are ‘JustLove’, a Cambridge-based Christian charity which involves students inaction for social justice; and Parkinson’s UK, the national charity.
At all other services and at Saturday evening recitals, you are invitedto support the work of the Chapel and Choir by giving to the retiringcollection. themselves known to the Chapel staff and may be invited to sit in thesub-stalls.
RESTORATION OF THE CHAPEL ORGAN
The Chapel organ is undergoing its most significant restoration since the1960s. Today’s instrument remains fundamentally as it was designed tobe at the time of its rebuilding in the mid-1930s, but after many yearsof frequent use it was becoming unreliable; major work is now beingundertaken to ensure that it continues to function optimally for the nextgeneration.
The restoration is being carried out during the first nine months of thisyear. The pipes were removed for cleaning and repair in January andFebruary, and they return during the course of the Easter Term. While theorgan case has been empty, surveying, cleaning and remedial structuralwork has been taking place. The organ is expected to be ready for useagain in September.
For more information about the organ and the restoration, please visitour website at www.kings.cam.ac.uk.
