Kingfisher Freight Services cc was established in 1992 primarily as an over border cargo mover to handle cargo from South Africa to the neighboring and regional countries located as far north as the equator.
Within a few months of commencing operations and in the pursuance of this function, we were requested by our clients to broaden the base of our services to include airfreight and seafreight on both an import and export basis.
As a result of this, the company experienced tremendous growth and with this came larger premises and an increase of staff to handle the requirements of our clients.
It has always been our motto to supply our clients with a personal, yet tailor made service and every effort is made to ensure that our clients are offered the highest quality and level of service in all aspects of supply chain management.
A further strengthening of our companies’ infrastructure is our membership of the Global Logistics Associates B.V; an independent global freight network, as their South African Representatives. With the co-operative efforts of our international associates, and our own NVOCC operation, global assistance is available to our customers for the movement and handling of all freighting requirements.

International ForwardingVia our international network of the Global Logistics Associates BV, offices, of which Kingfisher Freight Services are the South African Representatives; we are able to offer various modes of transport to our clients and in various combinations dependent on terms of sale or purchase for both import and export traffic. Customs ClearingKingfisher Freight Services is a Licensed and Accredited Customs Clearing Agent with the South African Revenue Service; and is therefore in a position to produce all import, export, warehousing and in-transit documentation to customs for any mode of transport.
InsuranceKingfisher Freight Services has an open Marine Policy and are an authorized Financial Advisory and Intermediary Service (F.A.I.S.) representative, and are therefore in a position to issue declarations for cargo moving by all modes of transport. It is our recommendation that all cargo be covered by insurance and that clients take suitable precautions to safeguard their interests.Rates are available on request, as they may vary dependent on nature, destination and type, for which cover is required, and for the liability clients wish to insure for.
Cargo PackingA full packing facility is available for crating, boxing, palletizing, shrink wrapping, container stuffing and dangerous goods packing, on site or at our warehouse; depending on client’s requirements.
Warehousing and Storage FacilitiesWarehousing is available at our warehouse for both free (15000 sm) and bonded cargo (4000 sm), with special facilities available for sensitive cargo to be placed in a high security area or when special handling is required.Additional warehousing is also available for long term storage for loose, boxed and palletized cargo, as well as full container storage facilities, with on site gantry facilities.
Regional on-ForwardingExtensive infrastructure is in place for the receipt of airfreight and seafreight traffic, either in FCL, LCL or Consolidations, where this cargo is destined for regional countries and territories, and the on-for-warding of such cargo by either road, rail or air freight to its final destination.
Project Services / Abnormal CargoKingfisher Freight Services are able to offer clients a fully functional project facility for the movement of any and all types of project cargo, via regional, international and by multi-modal means of trans-port.
Dangerous Goods HandlingKingfisher Freight Services are able to offer their clients the facility and infrastructure to move this specialized type of cargo by all modes of transport dependent on your particular requirements. Storage, handling, labelling and packing are amongst some of the special facilities we offer our clients for movement of dangerous goods. Our staff have undergone special training and is certified in the handling of this specialised cargo.
Fumigation Services / RequirementsWe are able to provide a full fumigation service for wood / wooden products and the like, where international requirements dictate that fumigation is a re-requisite for the transportation / movement of wooden products.
This will include the issue of a globally valid and acceptable fumigation certificate and the stamping / marking of the wood where required to meet with international specifications.
Pre-InspectionPre-inspections is often required by the country of destination and these may cover such companies as SGS, ITS or Bureau Veritas. Inspection should be arranged prior to dispatch of cargo to ensure that a clean report is issued, and in doing so, avoiding possible penalties or rejection of your cargo.
Inspection can be arranged via our offices, provided, we receive prior notification of such requirements, and are in receipt of all relevant documentation to allow for appropriate arrangements with the proper authorities to be made.
National Collection / DeliveryCollection and delivery facilities are available throughout the major centers of South Africa.
Perishable Cargo HandlingKingfisher Freight Services are able to offer our clients the facility to move specialized cargo by road, sea or air freight, dependent on their specific requirements. Inspection and verification of such cargo by the regulating bodies can be arranged where required.
