Kindergarten Learning ActivitiesMay
Dear Students, Parents, and Families:
Thank you for your continued efforts in helping your child learn and grow. We appreciate you now more than ever as you are becoming your child’s primary teacher. We are providing you with more resources to continue your education at home. Please remember that we recommend that your elementary child only spends up to one hour daily on the assigned activities. Lots of additional learning will take place in non-traditional activities. Most importantly, take time to play, explore, cook, and spend quality time with family.
Please plan times for the following activities for your child.READING:
● Read for 20 minutes per day.○ Read to your child or have your child read to you. You may choose to do
each for 10 minutes.○ Choose a reading response activity to do verbally or written.
LITERACY: Mondays and Wednesdays will be literacy focused days.● Watch and participate with the letter sounds lesson video.● Use the Tongue Twister pages to read to your child and have them recite back.● Practice word wall words in a variety of ways.

http://www.thehappyteacher.co/2017/09/sight-word-activities-for-parents.html● Have your child complete a writing activity. Use the paper provided if you’d like.
MATH: Tuesdays and Thursdays will be math focused days.● Complete one of the daily math routines.● Complete one of the daily math activities or games. Keep in mind that there are
more activities than you may get to. You can use these for extra practice if you would like or for some summer work.
THEME DAYS: See the Friday Theme Days pages for themed activities to explore each week.
MAPL (Music, Art, PE, LMC):● Choose at least one of these activities each day.
Each day, check off the items on the calendar as they are completed. Initial each day when your student has completed the work. Parents, please take a picture of your child's completed daily log and e-mail the photo to your homeroom teacher on May 29.
If you or your child become frustrated or overwhelmed with any of these activities, or if you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher so we can be of assistance to you through this process.
