This list is intended as a guide or resource as you, my client, traverse the many steps towards property home ownership. Many of the people listed are individuals with whom I have personally done business. Others listed are friends of mine who I know would do an excellent job for you. And some individuals are people that have been recommended to me by clients or other real estate agents that I trust. Feel free to call as many as you see fit. If you want a personal referral, please let me know. Depending on the size of the job, for example, some of these referrals may not be appropriate. And if you have a great referral for me, I will be happy to place them on this list. If you experience any difficulties with any of the companies or individuals listed here, please let me know.

Lenders & Mortgage Brokers
Start with your own bank first. If you have not done so already, get a pre-qualification letter. This is an excellent tool. It helps us know exactly what you can and cannot afford. It determines the price range we will work within.
While we are looking at property, investigate other financial institutions. Currently, rates are still good, hovering at 4.5% on a 30-year loan, depending on your credit rating. ARM’s (Adjustable Rate Mortgages) are even lower. Shop around for the best rate. While I am not a mortgage broker, I can make recommendations on the type of loan you might want to pursue, based upon how long you think you might want to keep the property. When we write a contract for the property you have selected, I submit the pre-qual letter with the offer to show that you are committed to the property AND can afford it. This gives you an edge, and shows your serious interest, as a seller wants to know that a buyer is committed to the process. The submission of the pre-qual letter does not mean that you have to use that particular lender. But at the point that we have a signed contract you will need to make a decision as to which lender you will use for the transaction.

Permit Parking
Residents must secure a permit from the Office of the City Clerk and display it on the passenger side windshield of their automobiles. The current fee for a Residential Parking Permit is $25 per year or $2.08 per month. Chicago Residential Parking Daily Permit Guest passes (which are valid for 24 hours from the time of posting), are $8.00 for 15 permits (one book) or $16.00 for 30 permits (two books).
