All Kimber pistols have beveled slide serrations that will not snag. The brush-polished Eclipse finish combines with matte black small parts to create a stunning appearance, and the stainless steel slide and frame ensure resistance to the elements.

What began as a single pistol became a family of models that would serve a full spectrum of tactical needs. SIS transitioned to the Kimber 1911 and also agreed these pistols could be offered to the public. SIS pistols have stainless steel slides, frames and serrated mainspring housings. Unique features include a flat top slide and the SIS Night Sight™ with a flat shoulder that allows one-hand cycling. The lightweight SIS Hammer™ reduces lock time, and the SIS-pattern slide serrations and gray KimPro II finish gives these pistols a striking appearance. Once again, Kimber is the choice of America’s best.

Meeting excessive expectations. In 2002, LAPD™ SWAT selected a Kimber 1911 .45 ACP as their duty pistol. In 2005, SWAT Team members put SIS Detectives in contact with Kimber, and the Detectives requested that Kimber create a duty pistol that met their high standards. Things worked out.

SIS pistols have specialized features including SIS slide serrations and light weight SIS Hammer™. SIS Night Sights™ have a cocking shoulder that allows the slide to be cocked or released with one hand if necessary.

All SIS pistols have flat top slides, along with a premium gray KimPro II finish that is self-lubricating and extremely resistant to the elements, salt and moisture. Models with 5-inch barrels have short or military-length guide rods.

Just for fun. Shooting a 1911 chambered in .22 LR is great practice, and an ideal way to train new shooters. It is also affordable. A Kimber conversion kit for an existing 1911 pays for itself in the first few hundred rounds.

Kimber was founded with the sole purpose of building the finest classic sporting rifles ever offered in America. Knowledgeable riflemen were quick to try one, liked what they saw and spread the word. Today, Kimber rifles are favored by many of the world’s most accomplished hunters and shooters, and limited production keeps people standing in line to buy them.

Kimber rifles offer a combination of features that set them apart from all other production brands. Barrels, chambers and triggers hold critical match grade dimensions for accuracy. Pillar and glass bedding ensures both accuracy and strength. Walnut stocks are finished and checkered by hand, and Kevlar/carbon fiber stocks are the finest available on a production rifle. As with Kimber pistols, all work is done inside the Kimber factory–the only way to ensure quality.

The Kimber Model 84M™ is the first ultra-lightweight production rifle that combines classic design, hand finishing and the advantages of a Mauser claw extractor for true controlled round feeding and extraction. Accuracy is ensured by the match grade barrel, chamber and trigger, along with pillar bedding on all models and glass bedding on rifles in big game calibers.

The Model 84M action was designed with minimal dimensions to accept the .308 Win. family of cartridges. No compromise was considered. Most production rifles simply shorten their bulky, full-size actions to accommodate these shorter cartridges, and their rifles end up weighing the same as a magnum. Worse, many do the only other thing they can to save weight; shorten the barrel below optimal length. That takes the rifle out of balance and reduces velocity.

The Kimber Model 84M Montana weighs just over 5 pounds, and the Model 84M Classic, Classic Stainless, Classic Select Grade and SuperAmerica weigh about 8 ounces more. Heavier rifles in varmint calibers are also available. Like all Kimber pistols and rifles, the Model 84M is built entirely inside the Kimber factory right here in America. The Model 84M SuperAmerica is a spectacular rifle, with hand-polished bluing, AAA-grade claro walnut stock and 24 lines-per-inch checkering. Standard features include cheekpiece and ebony forend tip. Details on following page.

The Model 84M action is designed with absolute minimal dimensions for the .308 Win. family of cartridges. This is the primary reason Model 84M rifles weigh some 2 pounds less than those from other manufacturers.

Model 84M actions are bedded to the stock on twin aluminum pillars for strength and accuracy. Models in big game calibers also have glass bedding. Sculpted steel bottom metal has a floorplate release inside the trigger bow.

Proper stock design and a recoil-absorbing 1-inch Pachmayr® Decelerator® recoil pad on most models diminish felt recoil. Straight comb stocks slide back, not up and into your cheekbone.

Model 84M rifles are available for two distinct purposes. Classic, Classic Stainless, Classic Select Grade, Montana and SuperAmerica models are light sporters made for hunting North America’s big game. Available in a wide selection of popular calibers, they are the finest mountain rifles available today. Varmint, LongMaster Classic, Pro Varmint, SVT and LongMaster VT are available in several flat-shooting varmint calibers. Lighter models are designed for predator calling and walking long distances between stands. Heavy-barreled models are for wearing out your welcome at a prairie dog town. Model 84M rifles are unequaled by any other production rifle, no matter how you weigh the options.

The Model 84M Pro Varmint with ultra-stable gray laminated sporter stock is chambered in 204 Ruger, .223 Rem. and .22-250 Rem. Standard features include a fluted stainless steel match grade barrel machined to heavy sporter contour.

Features:• Three-position wing safety acts directly on the cocking piece for greatest security.

• Models with walnut or Kevlar/carbon fiber stocks are glass bedded at the recoil lug.

Kimber rifles are finished with great detail, but the SuperAmerica stands above all the rest. To complement the fine walnut

stocks, bluing is hand-polished to a mirror finish.

The original Model 8400 was specifically designed for the Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) family of cartridges, but rifles with standard-length actions quickly followed. As with the Model 84M, every dimension is minimized to keep the rifles light, sleek and balanced. At the same time, barrels are never shortened below optimum length so maximum velocity is retained. Four models with the shorter action are offered, each chambered in 270 WSM, 300 WSM and 325 WSM. Details are on the following page.

To accommodate America’s most popular big game calibers like .270 Win., .30-06 Spfd. and .375 H&H Mag., the Model 8400 action was lengthened. A total of seven sporting and three tactical models are offered. Montana models with stainless steel barreled actions and Kevlar/carbon fiber stocks are light weight, hard-core mountain rifles. Classic, Classic Select Grade and SuperAmerica models are elegant walnut-stocked hunting rifles that perform as good as they look.

Models like the Sonora, Caprivi and Talkeetna have specialized features for long-range stand hunting or taking dangerous game up close. Tactical rifles are ready for law enforcement and military use, right out of the box. Standard action sporters are detailed on page 48, specialized models on page 50 and tactical rifles on page 52.

Hand-cut panel checkering at 20 lines-per- inch is a Kimber standard. SuperAmerica models have wrap-around 24 lines-per-inch checkering, along with an ebony forend tip.

Kimber stocks have an elegant, hand-rubbed oil finish that protects the wood while emphasizing the character and beauty of the grain. SuperAmerica models feature a traditional cheekpiece.

Model 8400 Montana rifles feature stainless steel barreled actions and premium Kevlar/carbon fiber stocks. Available in standard, magnum and WSM calibers, they are light, accurate and as tough as the hunt. Details on the following pages.

Hunt like you mean it. Kimber Model 8400 WSM rifles are light weight but heavy on performance. Specifically designed around the shorter dimensions of the WSM case, each of the four models offers value unmatched by any other brand. Hunt with the best. Hunt with a Kimber.

To reduce weight, Kimber actions are designed with minimal dimensions for the family of cartridges they chamber. Model 8400 WSM Montana models weigh just over 6 pounds, and walnut-stocked models weigh only 8 ounces more.

Kimber rifles with walnut stocks have sculpted bottom metal and grip caps. Magazine release button is positioned inside the trigger guard to protect against accidental opening.

Model 8400 rifles chambered for WSM cartridges feature free-floated 24-inch match grade barrels, chambers and triggers. Barreled actions are bedded on twin aluminum pillars permanently bonded into the stock, and recoil lugs are glass bedded for both strength and accuracy. Classic, Classic Select Grade and SuperAmerica models feature properly shaped classic walnut stocks with hand-rubbed oil finish and hand-cut checkering. Montana models are hard-core mountain rifles with stainless steel barreled actions and Kevlar/carbon fiber stocks. Straight combs and Pachmayr® Decelerator® pads all but eliminate felt recoil. Made entirely in the Kimber factory, the Model 8400 is the finest production sporting rifle available today.

Model 8400 rifles in standard calibers carry five rounds in the magazine, and magnums carry four. Kimber has a one or even two-round advantage over most brands.

Kimber rifles have match grade barrels and chambers. Most Model 84M sporter barrels measure 22 inches, Model 8400 standard caliber barrels measure 24 inches and most 8400 magnum barrels measure 26 inches, optimizing velocity.

Model 8400 Montana rifles in standard calibers weigh just 6 pounds, 9 ounces–even with a 24-inch barrel that ensures maximum velocity. Magnum rifles with 26-inch barrels weigh just 4 ounces more.

Model 8400 rifles are now available in .280 Ackley Improved and 7mm Remington Magnum. These flat shooters are natural extensions to the selection of popular calibers already offered across four models. Classic, Classic Select Grade and SuperAmerica rifles are traditional sporters with fine walnut stocks, hand-cut checkering and a hand-rubbed oil finish. The Montana is a hard-use rifle with a stainless steel barreled action and a Kevlar/carbon fiber stock. Made entirely in America, each rifle has a match grade barrel, chamber and trigger, both pillar and glass bedding, a 3-position wing safety and a Pachmayr® Decelerator® recoil pad. None are finer.

The Model 8400 Montana is available in proven calibers from .25-06 Rem. to .338 Win. Mag. Kimber rifles have match grade triggers that break clean at 3.5-4 pounds.

�0 Specialty Rifles

Both the Caprivi and Talkeetna have a barrel band sling swivel stud. The Talkeetna features a single leaf express sight and has a premium Kimber Kevlar/carbon fiber stock.

The Caprivi is meant for Africa, the Talkeetna is tough enough for Alaska and the Sonora is ready for open country–all places where Kimber quality takes on new importance.

The Caprivi features a 3-leaf island rear express sight, the standing leaf regulated for 50 yards and both folders left green for custom regulation. The hooded front sight has a large bead, as appropriate.

The Sonora features a laminated stock with beavertail forend for resting on a sandbag or attaching a bipod. The fluted stainless steel match grade barrel retains a heavy sporter contour for both stability and accuracy.

The Model 8400 Caprivi is available in .375 H&H Mag. and .458 Lott. Features include AA-grade French walnut stock with traditional pancake cheekpiece, ebony forend tip and 24 lines-per-inch hand-cut checkering. The Talkeetna .375 H&H Mag. has a stainless steel barreled action and tough Kevlar/carbon fiber stock. The Sonora is offered in .25-06 Rem., 7mm Rem. Mag. and .300 Win. Mag. Match grade barrels, chambers and triggers, a 3-position safety and the unequaled dependability of a full-length Mauser claw extractor are standard. These rifles are the finest production sporters ever offered, and the game they were designed to hunt deserves nothing less.

Kimber tactical rifles feature extended bolt handles with enlarged knobs to aid operation under stress or with gloved hands. Triggers are match grade. Floorplate release buttons are inside the trigger guard.

Full-length Mauser claw extractor ensures true controlled round feeding and extraction for unequaled dependability. The 3-position wing safety is positive, quiet and fast into action.

Model 84M LPT, Model 8400 Tactical and Model 8400 Advanced Tactical can be ordered with premium accessory kits which include Leupold® scope, rings, and bipod. Details on page 62.

The Model 84M LPT is a light weight urban tactical rifle that places a priority on both portability and quick deployment. The new Model 8400 Police Tactical .300 Win. Mag. offers the stability of a laminated stock with beavertail forend, plus Kimber quality at a surprising price.

Model 8400 Tactical and Model 8400 Advanced Tactical rifles are built by hand in limited quantities. Each features a trued bolt face, hand-finished chamber, hand-lapped lugs, custom glass bedding and a McMillan stock. The Model 8400 Advanced Tactical is finished in Desert Tan KimPro II for superior resistance to the elements.

The Model 8400 Police Tactical .300 Win. Mag. features a match grade barrel, chamber and trigger, 20 MOA rail and extended bolt handle.

The KimPro® Tac-Mag® is the ultimate 1911 .45 ACP magazine. Tac-Mag magazines work with almost any brand and model of mil-spec 1911.
