Greetings, ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco (ACSF) proudly invites you to support our 19th Annual Kids’ Batizado Integrado & Graduation Ceremony. The event will be held May 21 st 2011, at our Mission District Brazilian Arts Center, featuring world-renown guest capoeira masters from the US and Brazil. This year, ACSF Youth Instructors are working together to unite our partner schools like Fairmount Elementary, Up On Top Elementary, Katherine Michiel’s School, and Global Family Elementary to participate in this exciting annual celebration! In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of investing in our youth through quality physical and artistic programs that improve the health and wellbeing of our communities the theme of this year’s event is “Paz ” (Peace). You can read more about ACSF and the event at www.abada.org . As a valued friend and supporter, we want you to be the first to know about the donation and sponsorship opportunities available. Support options of all levels are available for both businesses and individuals. PROCEEDS FUND… All funds raised will go toward scholarships offered to low-income youth and young adults who are dedicated to training throughout the year. Last year we gave away over $46,000 in scholarships! WHY ACSF? Since 1991, ACSF’s has literally transformed the lives of thousands of youth and individuals—offering free and low-cost access to high-quality, culturally relevant, physical and cultural programs— helping to build new futures and a healthier, more confident, productive and conscientious community In addition to its busy Mission District Capoeira Arts Center that offers daily fitness, martial art, dance and language classes, ACSF works hard to expand the opportunities available to urban-youth by providing regular, “hands-on” in-school classes and performances, effectively filling the gap of arts education cuts. We now annually serve 15,000 youth, largely from disadvantaged backgrounds WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? Whether you are a business or an individual this is a unique opportunity to show your support of high-quality, values-based, physical and cultural programming that helps strengthen the bodies, minds, and spirits of the youth and families of our communities. As a high-profile nonprofit, we attract national and international attention to our programs. We expect a total of over 300 people to attend— both locals and visitors spending time and money in the neighborhood and at businesses during their visit. Our donors will receive prominent exposure at the event, through promotional materials, as well as on our website and among our broad, local clientele and friends. AND for Business Sponsors, we can also promote your business throughout the year, on our event t-shirts and uniforms for donations received over $5,000 and prior to May 2 nd , 2011. All donations are tax-deductible. Lastly we invite you to come and enjoy the festivities! The event series includes one full week of activities through out our off- site programming with guest visiting capoeiristas from Brazil, a healthy pot luck community gathering, and the Batizado Intergrado & Graduation Ceremony which will feature an opening capoeira performance by top-level artists, a fun dance party with LIVE music, and a raffle with top-notch prizes! To learn more visit our website. THANK YOU… Please let us know that you will participate in one of our sponsorship opportunities by filling out the enclosure and returning it before May 2 nd , 2011, after which point a member of our staff will contact you. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Márcia Treidler, President
