Pastoral Care continues to pray for you. Our focus the next two weeks will be dealing with chronic illness (concerns) on July 3 and New Hope Neighborhood on July 10.

K e y n t e s News for the team members of Cross Keys Village -The Brethren Home Community

As of June 20, there have been 268 days since our last lost-time injury. Nice Job! Let’s not take any risks now, you hear?

A Heartfelt Thank You My father, Charles A. Pierce, Jr. “Chuck” was a resident of Cross Keys Village for 27 years and was a resident of Sun Valley when he died on June 3, 2017. He was 98 years old and he went very peacefully. During his 17 month stay in Nursing Care he was comfortable and contented, mostly due to his great, caring, compassionate and loving caregivers! I will only mention his four prominent caregivers because these are the only names I have: Balinda Hunt, Diane Stonefifer, Linda Reinhart who were there when Pop died, and were so helpful and compassionate. Wilma Noel was also a wonderful

caregiver to Pop this last year and a half. Cross Keys is very lucky in their personnel, and the residents benefit greatly. My father and mother, Frances Pierce resided for 25 years on Peace Circle, and was very pleased to be living in such a great community. I and my sisters, Lynn M. Brown and Diana Lee Pierce want to thank you all, employees and volunteers, for making their retirement years so pleasant and for providing such help and care for Pops final moments. Sincerely,

Carol A. Floyd

What’s the Word? Say This Not That (STNT) is a campaign that furthers the dignity of our residents and team members through person centered language. Our language should match our forward-thinking programs and the excellent service we provide every day. For example, neighborhoods such as Honey Brook, Somerset, and Mapleview were once referred to as locked units. The STNT campaign reminds us to enhance dignity and refer to these areas as secure neighborhoods instead. It is our goal as an organization to help create a safe, secure, and home-like environment for our residents, not closed-off, locked, or sealed. Upcoming editions of Keynotes will feature words or phrases that could use some touching up! (Look to the last edition of Keynotes to see what word/phrase was featured). For more information or questions about Say This Not That, please contact Savannah Lynch (extension 5391), Kimberly Korge (extension 5272), or Ryanne Pardi (extension 5203).
