Family

• 1928: His second wife, Pauline, was pregnant, and gave birth to Patrick; Father commit suicide

• 1931: Pauline, gave birth to their second child, Gregory, but it Hemingway’s third child in all

Farewell To Arms (1929)

• Semi - Autobiographical written by Hemingway.

• Talks about events during the Italian campaigns during the first world war.

• Title taken from a poem by 16th century English dramatist George Peele.

• Non-fiction account by Hemingway.

• About the ceremony and traditions of Spanish bullfighting.

• The book provides a look at the history and what Hemingway considers the magnificence of bullfighting.

Home

• 1851: Asa Tift, a marine architect and salvage wrecker, built the house

• 1931: It then became Hemingway’s home, after being reinvented since it was in ruins

• The property was $8,000• Furniture represented in the home belonged

to Pauline as a collection of hers• They lived together, Hemingway, his wife,

and his two sons, from 1931 to 1940

Museum

• 1968: It was then claimed a U.S. National Historic Landmark

• Furniture inside the house were collected by Pauline

• Present: The cats at the museum are descendents of the original cats that lived with Hemingway. They are rare polydactyl's because they have extra toes

• A sea captain gave Hemingway his first six-toed tomcat.

• Bricks in Hemingway’s house were shipped from Baltimore, Marlyand.

• One of the most famous writers that inhabited Key West.
