Access to county-level employment and wages by industry and general labor force data

Scroll down the page to “Labor Market Information”.

Click to access the “Labor Market

Information” page.

Click on the “Statistical Data” tab.

Click on Table A to access monthly and annual labor force information by county. Click on Table C for just the

annual data.

Table A data are available in both pdf and text file formats. Table C data are in pdf format

only.

Click on Table B to access monthly and annual employment data by

major NAICS sector (i.e., reformatted covered employment from the Quarterly Census of

Employment and Wages). Click on Table D for just the annual data.

Table B data are available in both pdf and

Excel file formats.

Table D data are available in both pdf and

Excel file formats.

Click on Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages to access quarterly QCEW

reports

The reports are in pdf format. The fourth

quarter report for each year contains annual

average employment data and weekly wages

averaged over the year.

Click on the “Bookmarks”tab to access individual

counties.

Annual average employment by 2- and 3-digit NAICS sectors and weekly

wages averaged over the year.

LASER is an interactive web site that contains a wealth of NMDWS quarterly and monthly data for the state’s counties. Researchers can find and download employment and wage data by industry, labor force statistics for individual counties, and more. Menu

options allow the researcher to build various databases, covering user-defined time periods.

To access employment and wage data by industry, click

on the “Industry” link.

Labor force data, income data from selected federal agencies, taxable

gross receipts (under economic indicators),

population totals (under demographics), and area and industry

profiles are also available at the county level.

The industry link takes you to this page. Click on “Quarterly Census of

Employment and Wages” to access county-level data.

Select county-level geography.

Click on a specific county on the map. In this example, select Rio Arriba.

Select the appropriate time

periods. In this example, select all four quarters in

2006 by using the shift and down-arrow

keys.

Click the “Continue”button.

Scroll down the page to “Option 3” to select a major NAICS

sector.

Use the scroll bar to select the Retail

Trade sector.

Click the “Continue”button.

To access more detailed industries, highlight all Retail

Trade subsectors by using the shift and down-arrow keys. Then click the

“Continue” button.

All four quarters of data are displayed for the

subsectors. Click on the “Excel” link to create a data table for all Retail Trade

subsectors in Excel format.

Alternatively, Rio Arriba County data for one

subsector and one quarter could have been compared to other counties. To do so, click the “Compare” link.

Highlight all counties by using

the shift and down-arrow keys.

Click the “Continue”button.
