24.5-acre oasis in the heart of downtown.

You’ll find entertainment aplenty at

Millennium Park, so come on out and

MUST-SEE ATTRACTIONS

BP Bridge: Take the long way across Columbus Drive to Daley Bicentennial Plaza via Frank

Gehry’s whimsically serpentine steel creation.

Chase Promenade: A beautiful tree lined three-block-long walkway that spans the length of

the Park.

Cloud Gate: The brilliant stainless steel curves of what has affectionately become known as “the

Bean” mirrors both the skyline above and curious onlookers below.

Crown Fountain: These towering waterfall bookends bear digital images of actual Chicagoans.

Jay Pritzker Pavilion: Architect Frank Gehry’s bold outdoor band shell, with its soaring steel

ribbons and state-of-the-art canopied sound system over the lawn,is a breathtaking design.

Lurie Gardens: A 2.5–acre paradise for green-loving urbanites, this collection of flora brings to

life Chicago’s motto “Urbs in Horto” (City in a Garden).

Wrigley Square and Millennium Monument: The Square is anchored by the Millennium

Monument, a nearly full-sized replica of the original peristyle that stood in the same location

between 1917 and 1953.

If you’re convinced that theater is not for you, we’ve got a few shows that are sure to prove you

wrong... Not a traditional choreographed and orchestrated musical by any means, MILLION

DOLLAR QUARTET at Lincoln Park’s Apollo Theater (2540 N. Lincoln, 773.935.6100) breaks

the show tune mold and crosses over from chorus numbers to classic rock hits. WICKED is

back by popular demand for a limited two-month engagement at the Oriental Theater (24 W.

Randolph, 800.775.2000)! This iconic musical reveals the untold story of the witches of Oz, and

what happened before Dorothy “dropped” in on them. If you and your family are looking for a

fun, unique, and indescribable show in Chicago, then look no further than the BLUE MAN

GROUP at the Briar Street Theater (3133 N. Halsted, 773.348.4000)!

Straight Shooting

Still undecided about where to go in Chicago? Here is one of our favorites:

A cappella singing groups have enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years, due in large

part to their popularity among high school and college students, as well as the success of the

TV show “Glee.” But for the veteran multipart ensemble Straight No Chaser, the joy of complex

vocal harmonies and unparalleled showmanship never went out of style in the first place.

This Saturday, the enormously popular group returns to Chicago for two big shows at the

Chicago Theatre as part of their Under the Influence tour. The dates celebrate the upcoming

release of the acclaimed a cappella group’s eagerly awaited new album, Under the Influence, set

to arrive in stores this spring. The album includes unprecedented collaborations with some of

popular music’s best and brightest – including Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Dolly

Parton, Rob Thomas, Seal, and Jason Mraz – as Straight No Chaser put their distinctive and

inimitable spin on songs known and loved the world over.

Saturday at 3pm and 8pm; $32.50-$52.50; 175 N. State; 312.462.6300.
