Key Skills for Leadership (L3) What is the qualification? Endorsed by the CMI and accredited by ASDAN, Key Skills for Leadership (L3) consists of three modules, each designed to provide evidence to accredit Wider Key Skills. The modules have been specifically written for post-16 students to include: 1. Problem solving (PS) 2. Improving own learning and performance (LP) 3. Working with others (WO) Wider Key Skills are a range of practised abilities that underpin success in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal development. The importance of Wider Key Skills is emphasised in The Annual Report of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education and Training in which states: “These skills will better equip learners for a future work environment. Those who are flexible and able to continue learning to refresh their existing skills and gain new ones will be best equipped to meet the challenges of the changing nature of work.” The benefits for students include: Individual Programme Folder containing the written evidence to substantiate successful course completion. Each Wider Key Skill is accredited with 20 UCAS points. A nationally and internationally recognised qualification. What do the modules involve? Each module of the Key Skills for Leadership (L3) programme is designed for active learning. These activities are key components of the course and will include group discussions, presentations and planning and feedback. These and other short tasks are often stimulated through the use of our free resource pack of games, audio clips and short videos. Each module consists of seven units. Each unit is designed to be delivered in a one hour session. Students are then required to work independently to provide the evidence for accreditation. There are no external tests.
