Workshop on Research Methodology

The workshop on Research Methodology was held on 19th March 2018 Co-ordinated by Dr.

Nasrin Khan, organized by Department of Economics, PG & Research Centre and Department

of Commerce, PG & Research Centre, at Y & M AKI’s Poona College of Arts, Science &

Commerce, Camp Pune. The workshop begun with the Recitation of Holy Quran and Dr. Abbas

Lokhandwala Head Department of Commerce presented the theme of the workshop. Mr. Owais

Wani, student of M.com I introduced the Guest Mr. Manohar Ingle.

Prof. Dr. Manohar Ingle Ex-Member, Research and Innovation Committee, Royal University of

Bhutan, Thimphu (Bhutan) is an eminent scholar in the field of Research for about a decade,

he introduced the concept of Research to the audience tried to build a strong foundation of

research within aspiring researchers. He conveyed to them how a Systematic, Intensive, and

patient study in a particular field can be directed towards scientific understanding of a particular

concept. He discussed how a management problem evolves into a research problem. Dr. Ingle

went on to discuss the concepts of theory, proposition, hypothesis, and deductive Reasoning.

Having explained what a research design is he further discussed its subdivisions in the form of

descriptive, exploratory and experimental research designs.

The second session of the workshop was conducted by Dr. Bhawana Deshpande. Madam has

28 years of teaching experience in the subject of statistics. She explained various statistical

tools to the students and she also explained the concept of plagiarism. She made the best

possible of use of the audio visual aid. Also she presented the whole session in a self

explanatory power point presentation.

The workshop was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Nasrin Khan. This workshop proved

helpful for the students to prepare their research projects. (19/03/2018)

BBA Department of Poona College of Arts Science and Commerce organized one day workshop

on ‘Research Methodology’ activity for TYBBA students was organized on 29th September at

PIMSE Building M-3 Classroom from 9 to 12 pm. Dr.Abbas Lokhandawala Associate Professor

Commerce Dept.also Phd Guide,Pune University was invited as chief Guest .

Asst.Prof.Aqueel Bajajwala felicitated and introduced about chief guest to all students. Chief

Guest Dr.Abbas Lokhandawala inaugurated workshop and guided all the students on ‘Role and

importance of Research in the field of Business and Ecommerce’ in first session of workshop.

In second session of the workshop TYBBA Students presented Research paper on different

topics of Business Trends according to their Specialization like Finance, Marketing and HRM.

36 students participated in Best research paper Competition and presented their research paper

through PowerPoint PPT.

Prof. Aqueel Bajajwala and Prof.JahanAara Pathan and Prof.Deepika kininge judged all the

students through entire presentation on their Research paper topic.

Objective behind this activity was to make BBA students aware about entire Research Process

and Methodology. All students also learned how to present Research Paper practically through

entire activity.

Three winners were announced for Best paper presentation as follows-

One day workshop on Research methodology was conducted successfully by Asst.Prof.Deepika

Kininge under the Guidance of Principal Dr.Aftab Anwar Shaikh. BBA students enjoyed the

workshop and actively participated in Best Research Paper Competition and get motivated.

About the Workshop- Nowadays Research plays vital role in business and E-Commerce. Innovation comes

through Research only. Successful Organization and Industries always focus on

Research. By keeping the importance in the mind BBA department organized one day

workshop on Research methodology. This workshop focuses on the importance of

Research Process which will motivate BBA students to know how to do research before

starting their business or Start Up’s. This workshop will bring a positive transformation

in student’s attitude to get more focused as well as result oriented, so that they can

achieve the organizational goals at ease.

OBJECTIVE OF WORKSHOP:

Preparation of research proposal/synopsis – giving basic training how to conceive

a sound research proposal/synopsis

Data Processing and analysis

Preparation of the report – how to write the final research report, etc.

Provide knowledge on Research Methodologies and design aspects.

Provide a comprehensive review of sources and characteristics of constraints
