Front covers consist of the following- Plugs- information about the contents of a magazine or newspaper to which is given on the front cover to 'hook' the audience. Cover lines- cover lines are information about the articles to be featured in the magazine to which is also given on the front cover. Puffs- a word or phrase on the front cover to which is used to boost the status and engage the audience. Masthead- the logo or design of the company who issues the magazine, situated on the front cover. Main cover line. Cover price. Issue number. Feature article photographs. Layout. Barcodes Type face-the type of writing style to which the magazine company uses. -Serif- the small features at the end of strokes within letters. Serif -Sans serif- typeface without serifs. Sans serif -Script- script typefaces simulate handwriting or calligraphy. They do not lend themselves to quantities of body text, as people find them harder to read than many serif and sans serif typefaces; they are typically used for logos or invitations. This is also commonly used in various companies’ magazines and newspapers. Script -Display- they are used exclusively for decorative purposes, most commonly seen on birthday cards; these arent particularly suitable for body text. -Symbol-this typeface consists of symbols rather than normal text characters.
