Kirk Cousins was the 2nd child of Don and Mary. As his father was a pastor, he was taught to honor Bible from a young age. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior during his school days. He was interested in playing football, base ball and basket ball. When he was in his junior class, he got injured in his leg and so could not accomplish his dream. After that, he wanted to become a professional coach. He got a scholarship from Michigan State University with the help of Mach Don Antonio and studied to become a coach. He helped the college team to win the Pickten Championship. At present, he is with the Washington Redsigns team and has made it one of the leading teams in the country. He is also helping spiritually players who want to do something for the Lord Jesus. He keeps Luke 12:4 as the fulcrum of his life. This has attracted many in the football world.

Dear friend who is involved in sports & games, do you feel that your life is full of hurdles? Are you experiencing series of failures? You can change this defeated mentality by surrendering yourself to the God of this universe. You need to believe that God knows the beginning and the end of your life. My purpose is fixed, and I will do all my pleasure says the Lord God in Isaiah 46:10.

Cholera held fast the people of Thirunelveli as a storm. Many lost their lives. The fear of cholera spread everywhere. Facilities in medical aid cen-ters were scarce. Rev. Reinis, who was preaching the Gospel to the people of Thirunelveli worked hard in spreading the awareness of Cholera and saved many lives. He made the lives of people blossom yet again. He is called the “Apostle of Thirunelveli”. There is seldom a place where he has not stepped in Thirunelvei. He has established more than 400 churches. He continued to minister through edu-cation by opening schools and Bible colleges.Christ’s wonderful presence is felt in churches with tall spires even today. Wherever true mis-sionaries labored, churches sprang. This is an un-deniable fact. Your life of consecration can change the world. Live a testimonial life spreading the fragrance of Christ wherever you go. May HIS Grace lead you!

I week message

What is Church Planting?‘The Church’ is the most wonderful institution created by GOD. HE created the church for the mankind to be free from curses, to maintain good relationship with GOD and to grow in the knowledge of the Holy One. GOD is the Divine Head of the church. In today’s perspective, what is church? What is church planting?

The church …Affirms the past:the crucifixion and the resurrection. (ICor.15:3,4)

Believes the Present: the indwelling Presence of GOD.Anticipates the Future: the Glorious Second coming of Christ. Thus, the church affirms the past, believes the present and waits the glorious future of the coming of our LORD. Church is not a building and neither an institution. It is the fellowship of saints in prayer. It proclaims Christ’s death, resurrection and the New covenant (Acts 2:42-47).

The resurrection of Christ is the beginning of the church. It was started by the Disciples of Christ keeping HIM as the centre. On the very first day, 3000 were baptized and added into the church. This love fellowship headed by the disciples grew to be the “First Church”. This was continued in tandem various disciples of Christ like disciple Thomas to India. The church in India began to grow unhindered. History gives us facts of disciple Bartholomew, who also ventured to minister in India.

This is the fact we learn from History. The way the churches were established at

various places is wonderful to retrospect. Amidst many hurdles, the church was planted solemnly and deeply. People came forward to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. GOD proved that circumstances will not be against preaching the Gospel.

Christ’s disciples planted church not only in India but also across the Globe. Simon Peter was instrumental in establishing the church at Capernaum and Rome; Apostle Andrew at Scythia, South Russia; James at Spain; Apostle John at the Ephesus; Philip at France; Bartholomew ministered in India and in North-West Africa. Thomas continued his ministry in India planting many churches; Mathew proceeded to Ethiopia; James, the son of Alpheus planted church at Jerusalem; Titus at Syria, Arabia, Mesopotamia, Canaan, Persia; Simeon in Egypt, Britain, Africa;

All these are recorded in History. By this, we come to know that many of the true followers of Christ began planting churches as they ministered in various places. Even today, the church is spread around the world by various servants of GOD. We cannot be aloof or without concern about this great plan of GOD in expanding His Church.

Church planting is GOD’s mission.Church planting is the mission of the people of GOD.Church planting is the mission of missions (Mission Agencies).Church planting is the individual’s responsibility of the church (the member of the church). From the time GOD started this mission, HE has been looking out for his people asking,” Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” May we turn to our goal of planting churches with more zeal? May the Apostolic ministry continue! May this race continue!

I finished my engineering studies in the year 1979 and joined a polytechnic college as a teacher. Within few days, I realized that I liked my job very much. But after 2 years, as per my father’s wish, I joined the government Agricultural Department as an Assistant Engineer. It then took me 2 ½ years to find another teaching job again. And even to this day, I’m in teaching. At present I’m the principal of a technical Institute. A few days earlier, I undertook a 15 minutes free career test in the Internet. The test result suggested 4 suitable jobs for me. The first one of those 4 was teaching. So, I came to know that I’m doing a job which is best suited for me. I like it very much so I’m able to do it joyfully - not only joyfully but also skillfully.

Ecclesiastes 3:22 says, “So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot.” The Bible even says that it is the gift of God to find satisfaction in toil (Ecc. 3:13).

A lot of people today are into jobs which are unsuitable for them. They just work for the sake of doing it. A statistics states that only less than 6% of the people carry out their jobs joyfully.

So, how can you find a suitable and likable job? First, we have to do a self assessment. We have to think and analyze what our interests, skills and values are, to find out our personality. We have to understand ourselves completely.

Secondly, we have to do a market research about the present job market. When can we find such kind of jobs? Where can we find it? Who run such companies? How are the employees treated? How long has the company been in existence?

Thirdly, Career Goals: Assessing which jobs would be suitable for our skills and personality. To find out this we can seek the help of career counselors. We can undertake career tests to find out to which jobs we are suitable. We can write free career tests through the Internet.

Fourthly, Gap Analysis: Finding out what is holding us back from being eligible to our suitable and likable job, and correcting ourselves in those areas.

Finally, we have to sell ourselves, ie, making the employers understand that we are eligible for that job. There are two important things we need to know for this - first is Resume: Our data should be clear and correct. Next is Interview: We have to prepare and present ourselves in a right way.

So young people, don’t go behind people asking them to give you any job. Make yourself eligible for your suitable and desirable job. God will give you that gift.

The power of redemption which emanated from the cross continues to gather people to the church. When the pages of church history are turned over, you will not find a single page which mentions failure. Why? It’s because the Church is lead by the victorious Christ. As a result, it continues to move forward. The task is realized through thousands of godly men and women who are great friends of Jesus. They travel far and wide to spread the gospel and to save sinners from sin. This will be true in the future too until the return of Christ. Many memorable occasions which took place in church history are a challenge and compulsion to the present generation who are to receive the baton of Saving Work at some point in the running race of their lives.

Thirupuliyangudi is a small village, which is a holy place for Hindus. River Tambaraparani which runs through this land makes this place fertile for farming. The villagers never had any knowledge about the real God - Jesus Christ and the way to peace he offers. However, in due time by God’s grace according to His plan etched out long before, Mr. Nambi and his family accepted Christ. How was it possible? What are the consequences they faced? Let us know them.

In the year AD 1818, Nambi was sixty years old. He had three sons (Periya Palavesam, Chinna Palavesam and Subramaniyan). They were farmers. Once when Subramaniyan made a visit to Palayankottai, he heard Masilamani speaking against idol worship. Subramanian was greatly angered by the talk. However in order to understand the truth of the matter, he paid attention to what Masilamani was preaching. After his talk, Masilamani distributed

family was firm in faith. When Lakshmanan, a son of Nambi’s elder brother saw their witness, he accepted Christ. Following his footsteps many of Nambi’s relatives accepted Christ. In the month of July 1823, St. Michael’s church was completely constructed. In the month of August, the first Baptism service was held. Later from this church many went out as witnesses to spread the gospel of Christ throughout Tamilnadu. Nambi’s second son first spread the gospel of Christ in a place called Kambam. Mr. Marian later accomplished great things for the Lord Jesus and his mother was from Tirupuliyankudi. Even though, Marian was affected with leprosy, he was steadfast in his faith and encouraged others to be strong in their faith. He was a great song writer too. Many of his songs are found in the Lyric collection (Keerthanai Song Book - 13, 98,178, 186, 200, 300). His song we sing during breaking of bread “Kartharin Pandhil Vaa” has a beautiful story behind it. He died in a place near Sivakasi called Ezhayiram Pannai where he served at last. In the year 1912 this church was rededicated and in the year 1960 church’s tower was dedicated. In the year 1973 the church celebrated its 150 years of

service. The church is still shinning bright and active bringing many to God’s kingdom.

The pages of church history were turned now to encourage young hearts who want to work with zeal for the Lord. Let the hearts of those who read this burn brilliantly until our

whole country kneels down to worship Jesus.

copies of New Testament to people gathered there. Subramanian also took one and began reading the New Testament. Subramanian liked what he read, so in order to know more he met Masilamani. Subramaniyan shared what he had learnt to his family members. However, his brothers rebuked him. Subramani never wavered in his belief and later had the joy of seeing all his family members accepting Christ.

The whole family then went to Palayankottai to meet James Hopp. Each one received ‘Gnana Upadesa question & answer Book.’ As a family, they preached about Jesus to others. Every Sunday without fail they travelled to attend Sunday service held in Palayankottai. As a result, they were tortured by fellow-villagers and were hated by their relatives for preaching Christ.

Subramaniyan joined a theological study centre in Palayankottai. He developed good relationship with missionaries during those days. He took the missionaries to his village and requested them to construct a school and church in his village. As a result in the year 1823, a church and school with mud walls were built. The school did not function for few months due to the opposition of villagers.

When Mr. Rhenius heard about it, he sent two missionaries to help in proper functioning of the church and school. The villagers planned secretly to attack and destroy Mr. Nambi’s family. They put fire on the thatched roof of the church. Mr. Nambi’s wife died in the ensuing riot and became the first Martyr of the C.M.S. Church at Tirunelveli. However Mr. Nambi’s

EvidencesFace the opposition Nehemiah (4 - 6) When Nehemiah was building the wall with his people he faced full opposition. In our hard times we would face what Nehemiah handled that time. But how did Nehemiah break the opposition and moved forward?

1) When he was hurt by ridicule and laughter, he and his people gathered to pray and reexamined their appointed work.2) When they were threatened, people gathered again to pray and placed watchmen for 24 hours.3)When rumour was spread falsely about him he opposed it. To strengthen himself he prayed to God.

W Á ™ k Á È Ô ^II week message Expanding the horizon When will the churches be spread through me? Can I participate in this eternal mission? Can the church be established by me? How will the fragrance of the church spread in the towns of villages in India? Will the prophet-ic revelation of the church fulfilled in my time? My inquisitive young boy and girl, my answer to your question is “You can”. The continual guid-ance and presence of the Holy Spirit can help you establish churches. When you start this ministry in the every place you are, you can see the depth of its impact far and wide. The pre-requisite for this ministry is your ‘availability for GOD’. Jesus is ‘searching for you’. HE wants you to get ready. How can you get ready?1.You should have the experience of salvation, accepting the Lord as your personal Savior.

I received the Lord as my dear Savior on 27th December, 1982. I confessed my secret sins and my wrongs in my personal prayer. I prayed with overwhelming tears. The result of my prayers was the Divine joy I received and the surety of forgiveness. From that day forward, I began to involve in the ministry of planting churches. St.Paul began to plant churches from the day he met the Lord(Acts9:1-10).

2.Vision:Amidst those who rush to hear the prophetic Word these days, we need young people like you, who have vision to build churches for GOD. Understand the state of our country. Learn about the state of our land via internet. You can know the statistics about everything happening around us from the Google. 45-50%

of young people like you are still out of the church. May you hear the voice of GOD that says, ”Who will go on our behalf ?”. When you work with a far-sight, you will do better church-planting.

What does the Bible teach us?1.Old Testament:What does the Bible teach about church plant-ing? Our God is a God of nations. His will is to see everyone saved. When HE blessed Abra-ham, HE said, “Nations will be blessed through you” (Genesis12:2,3). HE revealed HIS will to save and bless people through Abraham.2.New Testament:Our mission of planting churches begins in Acts 1:8. Is the account described in Acts true? Did it happen?Acts 2- JerusalemActs 8:1,4 – Judea, SamariaActs 28:14,30 –Rome (the last nation)It was the will of GOD to see these events should happen

It was GOD’s plan that many churches should be planted. GOD wanted to group believers into churches. From the olden time of the Apostles, the church is being planted every-where by the believers. It is the thirst of GOD to see these churches grow in strength and spirituality.

When you can live a testimonial life in the place where you reside, you can surely build new churches to raise new believers and wit-nesses. In our ministerial journey, we had met the tribe of Santhaal. We dwelt there to learn their language and culture.

Today, many from this tribe have ac-cepted the LORD and are worshipping the LORD in more than 450 villages. We should join together in fulfilling the will of GOD by preaching Christ in places where HE has not been heard of. All we need is a new zeal to establish churches as we go our way. Then we will walk towards new turnings. May the LORD enlarge our territories!

Missionary Name : Mr.Paul KuppusamyState : Karnataka

Mission Field : Kolar Mr. Paul Kuppusamy belongs to an orthodox Hindu family. Once his mother became very sick and was abandoned by all medical professionals. It was at this critical time, she was healed through the prayers of a missionary. Thus, having understood God's great love and His faithfulness, Kuppusamy committed himself to full time missionary work in 1996 and pledged to take the message of this loving God to places where it is unknown. First, he worked in a place called Anaikal in Karnataka from 1996 - 2001. Then from 2002, he worked among the Santhals in Jharkhand. There he suffered from Malaria many times. Once his brain was affected by malaria and thus suffered from epilepsy. He was admitted in a hospital and only after 1 ½ months he could recover. The Lord who clears all obstacles before His people helped him graciously. When asked, he replied that his continuous prayers and strong will to do something for the Lord helped him to prevail against all obstacles. Once he organised a Mela, while working among the Santhals. This was opposed by a Hindu sect and they instigated the police to arrest him on false charges. However, he was miraculously relieved of all troubles by God. His missionary life has seen thousands of such miracles! Although there were oppositions and physical hardships, through his strong will to do something for God he could witness some enterprising results – God graciously used him to establish 35 Worship Groups and baptise 3000 Santhal believers. The Lord had blessed him with a great partner in 2005. Now Mr. Paul Kuppusamy and his wife Mrs. Shyla are working in Karnataka. Karnataka is known for its resistance to the Gospel just like some North Indian states. It has only 1% Christians. Mr. Kuppusany’s vision is to win all people for Christ and to form many more worship groups. He wants us to pray that the Lord would bless the womb of his wife to bear children. He also wants us to pray for the removal of the ban in the state of Karnataka to conduct house worship meetings. In this country there are many people who have not heard the Good News of Jesus Christ even once. Who will go ahead to spread it among them? Will you go for the work of expanding God's Kingdom? Think! Act!

In Tamilnadu, the drought hit district is Ramanathapuram. People all over in India come here

for pilgrimage.

Do you know?

FIRST WEEK PRAYER REQUESTS

People of Santhal…The tribe of Santhal lives in the region of Jharkhand. Among the six districts of our Jharkhand mission field, 15 lakh people belong to the tribe of Santhal. There are also a few of this tribe found in Orissa, Bengal and other northwest regions. These people are spirit worshipers. Every place has its own goddess and every family has its own family goddess. Two people who fought for the freedom of this tribe were hanged to deaths, whose spirits are now being worshiped as gods by the Santhal people. In order to satisfy their spirits, rituals and sacrifices are done. This people group listens only to their village leader. Even police officers cannot conduct any enquiries among this people without permission from the village leader. For all their problems these people go to sorcerers and the sorcerers, earn by cheating these people. Santhal people are very much indulged in dance and music. During their festival seasons they drink and dance all night till day break. Including women, everyone in the family drinks alcohol. When something goes wrong in the family or if they are infected by any disease, they go to gurus for solution or cure. Malaria is a commonly found disease in this place. In the year 2003 our missionary Mr. Kumaravel set foot in the state of Jharkhand with the desire to bring these people into Christ. In the past 10 years he has been infected with malaria for more than 15 times. In the region of Nuninak where he has been working, around 1652 people have accepted Jesus Christ. He is now working with a goal to share the love of God to 217 people in the coming year. There are about 23 missionaries from our organization (FMPB) working among the Santhal people. Around 60,000 people have accepted the word of God. There are 63 native part time missionaries in this area. Among which 5 have committed for full time ministry. More women prayer groups are formed. People are actively involving themselves in the 1000 hour chain prayer. Recently we have been facing problems with anti-Christian organizations who work like missionaries, confusing the people by telling them, not to leave their traditions and cultures. They are providing free video shows of Ramayana and Mahabharata and are even interpreting the scriptures to their advantage. It is our responsibility to pray for these anti-Christian organizations. There are many villages yet to be reached. In the present situation there is only one missionary for every 15 churches and hence making it difficult to reach out as a single person. So let us pray for more missionaries to come here and work among this people.

PRAYER POINTS: Let us pray for the following…1.For the Santhal people to know the true living God.2.To leave spirit worshiping practice.3.For the sorcerers among this people to accept Christ. 4.To be freed from the addiction of alcohol.5.For the good health and safety of our 23 missionaries and their families working in this area.6.For more missionaries and native missionaries to arise for this people.7.For the anti-Christian organization working against our missionaries.8.For more churches and prayer groups to be formed.9.For the backsliders to come into salvation again.10.For the 18 missionary organizations working among this people.

June 8th has been officially followed as BRAIN TUMOUR DAY. This day was started by the GERMAN BRAIN TUMOUR ASSOCIATION in the year 2000 to bring awareness among people. There are many researches being done to find a cure for this disease.

Brain is a vital organ of human body that keeps a person active. All our senses like walking, talking, seeing, hearing, feeling and thinking are governed by the brain. When some cells in the human brain fail to function or does not function properly, there are chances to result in brain tumour. These damaged cells increases in number forming a bulk and starts destroying the cells that function well. As a result of which the entire body shuts down.

Generally people above the age of 35 are diagnosed with brain tumor. People, whose brain tumour cannot be treated have a maximum life time of 5 more years. Children under the age of 19 are also found suffering from this disease. The suffering and pain of brain tumor is more at young age than in adult stage.

About 7 lakhs of people every year are found to suffer from brain tumor. Around 500 are newly added to the list for surgery. People with cancer in other parts of their body are found to be vulnerable to brain tumour. Every year 14,000 die due to this disease.

The ratio of men affected by this disease is 57% and women are 43%. This disease not only affects the functioning of body parts but also leads the person to a mentally unstable state where he/she does not realize what they are doing. Let us pray for the prevention and cure

of this disease.PRAYER POINTS:1.For the people suffering from this disease and those counting their last days.2.For proper treatment to be found for brain tumour.3.For the healing of the Children suffering from this disease.4.For the future and education not to be hindered by this disease.5.Preventive measures and vaccines to be found for this disease. -JulieLet us pray for the sick…1.For the complete healing of our missionary working in Assam among the missing people group, Mrs. Akila John Sankar, who was diagnosed with blood cancer (LYMPHOMA) and admitted for treatment in Vellore CMC hospital.

2.For the healing of Mrs. Jigi Edward from liver disease who was working at Patparganj mission field, Delhi.

3.For the healing of Jharkhand missionary Mrs. Shanthi Anantharaj who is suffering from kidney problem and undergoing treatment at Vellore.

4.For the complete healing of Jharkhand missionary Mrs. Joyce John who is suffering from heart problems.

5.For the healing of Haryana missionary Mr. Raja Edward Moses’s son Duke Joel (age 19) who has been given chemo for 8 times (cancer in leg bone). Undergoing treatment at Vellore CMC hospital. For God’s strength to support him for one more Chemo and for his miraculous healing.

After the sexual harassment event in Delhi, India's capital city, many across country started raising their voice against violence poured on women folks. Mahatma Gandhi, father of our nation once said “the day a woman can walk freely on the roads at night; we can say India has achieved independence”. We have to think about this now.

Current statistics taken across India says that 94% of woman feels they are not safe when traveling alone and 84% women in Delhi fear about their safety when traveling alone. Events that happened in Delhi also happen in different corners of our nation. Even in Tamil Nadu there are still incidents of sexual harassment against women and children.

In metropolitan and urban cities, it’s become usual for woman to return home at night after work. As per statistics violence against women in Tamil Nadu is less which makes us little happy. A statistics was taken from 500 women found 84% of them travel alone for work or to take rest. Similarly 94% of them believe traveling alone is unsafe and can cause sexual harassment in India.

Even if they learn to travel alone still they have to travel with fear. They can outwardly portrait to be courageous but still they have some sort of fear. Therefore 33% of women carry something for their self defense when they travel alone. Following Delhi and Bihar (18%), Uttar Pradesh (8%) tops the violence against women. There is a surprising fact that, in Maharashtra with 27% working women population and most of them travel outside, still it is more secure state for women.

Many think there is no solution against this problem and all state governments are planning some measures to control this problem. There are financial investments made in to this plans and serious actions are taken to eradicate this

issues.

Each day our going out and coming back to home is in God’s hand. When we go out we have to submit ourselves in hands and travel, so He will for sure protect us in our travel. He will make angels to go in front and behind us as we travel.

As India is making its way to be one among the developed nations of the world, education plays a vital role for that.

Though some Institutions offer world class education, true is the fact that the present education system has to be modified as it doesn’t help the students to grow in personality.

Present educational system makes only literates by giving away degrees & diplomas without basic knowledge but fails to educate.

Present educational system ignores skills and aptitudes among students. Examination is not an ideal way of testing a student’s capacity. It doesn’t list what a student has learned and what ideas he/she has towards life and work. It doesn’t test character, aptitude and attitude. There is too much stress on getting high marks and this encourages the students to memorize and pass exams rather than understanding the subject or learning the concept.

Educational system which should be responsible for shaping the youth, instead of doing so, makes them concept and teaches them self centeredness and creates unhealthy competition among students. It doesn’t build their character or promote creativity or enhance their personalities. It ignores their overall development. It is detached from the real world and doesn’t make students ready to face the world.

The admission to reputed institutions is based mostly on money. Only children from rich families get to study in these places and

are able to pursue higher education. Whereas students from the lower/middle social economic status through are eligible and are packed with interests, talents and enthusiasm are unable to do so because of the high cost and affordability.

Academic classes should have restricted hours and sufficient holidays should be given because students need time and space to recharge and re-energize themselves. Prolonged class hours and having classes on weekends or holidays has no effect on the development of students but leaves them only tired and stressed out both physically and mentally.

There is no doubt that the present educational system is making doctors, engineers and CA but there are lack of values and ethics. On the whole the success of education system is not based on numbers (such as marks, Ranks or percentages). But only on how well it is able to shape an individual to be a good beneficial

human being to the society.

PRAYER POINTS

1.The quality of education to be improved.2.The authorities to make necessary changes to be in par with world class system.3.The evaluation methods to be changed.4.The educational institutions to emphasize and teach moral values, ethics and shape an individual5.The admissions and evaluations not be biased6.The eligible students to get scholarship/government assistance to pursue higher education.7.For the upcoming generation to receive a good quality education.

Let us pray that God’s kingdom would be established among these people.

Anjaw District was formed in the year 2004 in the State of Arunachal Pradesh

with Hanai as its capital. Many tributaries of Bhramaputra flow in this district. So

agriculture is the prime occupation of the people. The commercial products of the

district are apples, oranges, corn and cardamom. They are known for their quality in

international market also.

Mismi and Mayur are two major groups of people living here. Wikipedia says that

about 59% of people in the district are literates. However, people with higher education

are very few. The languages they speak are Idu, Miji and Digana. These languages

originate from Tibet and Burma.

These people worship good and evil spirits as well as the sun. There are also

some Catholic Christians. Recently many have started to follow Buddhism and its

principles because they want to lead a peaceful life. Though the district is physically

fertile, it is spiritually dry. Traditionally, the people resist the advance of the Gospel.

Prayer Points:

1. Pray that there would be open doors for evangelism, so that God’s love would

be shared.

2. Pray that the Christians although few in number would be firm witnesses.

3. Pray that the people of Mismi and Mayur would lose their faith in animism and

know the real God.

4. Pray for those who are following Buddhism to know the Lord Jesus.

5. Pray that the government would help the youngsters to get higher education.

6. Pray that agriculture would continue to be profitable and the climatic conditions

be favorable.

Uttar Pradesh stands first in the number of deaths due to Building collapse (461); Second is Tamil Nadu (437); Andhra stands third. This is due to bad building designs, fragile foundation and cheap construction materials. Let us pray that the contractors and civil Engineers bring up strong buildings that never compromise on the standard of materials used.

Increasing Deaths in Building collapse

Poverty35% of the Indian population is still below the poverty line, 70% are women among this. Banks do not give loans to these women. They borrow from the lenders for a huge interest. Let us pray that the Government of India will bring suitable loan schemes for those under the poverty line

and enforce it effectively

“Vindhai Kristhu Yesu Raja”, a Tamil Christian song came floating in the air as I entered a company campus which encourages green revolution. I questioned the man who was arranging the empty cardboard box - Does the company always play Christian songs? He said, “Yes” and continued his work. My heart accepted the message as I realized that these people who have rooted their faith in Christ are confessing it with their mouths.

Valliyur is a small town which is situated down south in the Tirunelveli district. On hearing the name Valliyur, people are reminded of Shelton shirts. We met Mr. Gnanaraj, the proprietor of Shelton Shirts and interviewed him for Kerith.

About your family?

I was born in a poor Hindu family. I never knew Christ. I had my basic education in a Christian School. At one point when our family was in the edge of poverty, I decided to travel to some other city to earn my living. When I was at the

age of 13 or 14 I landed in Mumbai.

How did you accept Christ as your savior?

In Bombay, I worked for 12 hours a day to earn thirty five rupees as my salary. In that I spent twenty five rupees to learn tailoring. Once, Bro. DGS Dhinakaran came to Mumbai to conduct special meetings. As I studied in a Christian School with that old memories I attended the meeting. I purchased a Bible and I started reading it. After tasting God’s love I accepted him as my personal savior. Later when I came to my village, I took baptism and joined the local church.

What made you start a company?

After my marriage, with my first child we were living in Bombay. During those days, I was working as a tailor in an Export Company which paid me four hundred and twenty five rupees as my salary. God helped me to buy a sewing machine. With the help of it, I started sewing clothes for my company at home in my free hours and got extra earnings. This helped us to overcome poverty at home. Likewise with prayer we purchased two more sewing machines and started sewing and delivering from home. Later we started a readymade show room in

Bombay with God’s help.

What encourages you to take part in missionary work?

My eldest son studied in a boarding school in Yavatmal which was run by missionaries. Once on his birthday, my wife and I went to meet him with a new dress. There I was touched by the sacrificial work of missionaries. So, I decided to pray and donate for missionary work. Later in FMPB, through scan gathering I have encouraged many Christian Businessmen to donate for the missionary work.

Ok Annan… You had started a company in Bombay then why did you start a new company in your village?

Thambi, in 1982 we started a company in Bombay. Even though I had committed my life to Christ and was supporting missionaries at that time, I felt I achieved all this by my power. I trusted people to make decisions and choices. However in 1992 my company started facing mild financial crisis. During that time, God reminded me Psalm 118:9 and helped me to put my trust in him alone. I trusted God completely and with great prayer we started a small company in my house at Valliyur. Today God has honored us and helped us to see great heights. God has helped us to start three manufacturing companies in Valliyur and another small company in Tiruvannamalai. After a recent road accident, contrary to many people’s expectations and false predictions, God healed me completely and helped me to lead a witnessing life.

What is your advice to excel in business?

I started business keeping Ecclesiastes 11:1 as my corner stone. Today, many take loans from banks to start business. We need to be faithful in this part. Many time people who take loans do not bother to pay the dues in time, rather they spend that money lavishly on unnecessary things. Indeed, they should try earnestly to pay back the loan at the earliest trusting

God completely in their effort.

What is your next ambition in life?

It has always been my desire to help missionaries who work with great sacrifice until their last breath. Since I have never done a sacrificial service like theirs, at least I will help them to the possible extent. will help them to the possible extent.

What would you like to tell to Kerith Readers?

The missionaries who dedicate themselves to spread the gospel to the people around the country are rare commodities. Come forward to support them with your money and prayers. Let the villagers hear ringing of church bells. Let it be because of you. Because when I was small, I came to the knowledge of Christ, by hearing the bells chiming at our village church and prayers offered there. I thankfully remember those missionaries who are the reason for it.

We congratulate the following young leaders who are starting new prayer

III week message

Spiritual IntegrationWe briefly discussed about the will/plan of GOD in planting churches. The newly built church should grow in all spiritual orderliness. St. Paul writes, “God’s household… is the church of the living God”. The believers who gather in the church should be well trained in the scriptures. Let us discuss few of the basic orderliness to be followed in church.

1.Learning church

According to Acts 2:42-47, the new believers dwelt in the teachings of the Apostles. In those days, there was no printed Bible, song book or even a prayer book. The Apostles taught the people based on the visions they saw and the revelations they received from GOD. The believers who heard this came to know the Lord more and more.

In the twentieth century, we see oral tradition followed scarcely. Communication has developed so much. Digital world has overtaken the oral tradition. The Bible has been translated into many languages. The Gospel and its illustration are being spread via Radio, TV, DVD. The question is how are we equipped with such technology in church planting?

How many churches gather as small groups and families for Bible study? How many church leaders teach the Bible in depth in church? In the same time, how many churches are enthusiastic in studying the scriptures? Every church should turn out to be a learning church.

2.Church should be a training centre:

Every church should choose the right elders for administration. As Moses

trained up Joshua, Paul trained up Timothy, Titus and Titus in turn trained many leaders, we should also train up many leaders after planting church in a particular place.

Such leaders should not only have knowledge of the Word of GOD but also on Church History, Church Discipline, Church Management, Church Growth and Church Leadership Programme.

3.Indigenous church

Every newly established church should become an indigenous church. They should learn to manage the inflow of money, expenditure and outreach.

4.Growth in relationship:

Every church should grow in relationship with GOD and people. It is important to grow in relationship with other churches too.

5.Growth in Balance

Church should grow spiritually and in strength day by day.

6.Spiritual Growth

The budding churches should

(i)Grow in the love of GOD

(ii) Grow in prayer fellowship

(iii) Grow in Bible study

(iv)Grow in Witness

(v) Grow in giving

These disciplines will help in further church planting by believers. What should we do seeing this? We should enhance spiritual discipline in our churches for expanding church planting.

Aruppukottai District is beautiful with God’s creations. Rev.Sam Sundersingh is the eldest son of Mr.Simeon Paulraj (District head of FMPB), and Mrs.Vanaja Paulraj.

He was brought up in a Godly way by his parents and he grew with a vision for ministry. He even did the ministry in small ways during his school days. He grew with an aim to become a pastor in future. He involved in FMPB’s gospel ministry during his school holidays. He did ministry in several places along with Bro.Navaneethar. He did a lot of work and some of which includes gospel ministry, literature work, music, reading books, house visiting etc. Wherever he went, he had a habit of establishing a prayer group by getting the young people together to pray.

He is a reason for the present prayer group at Arupukottai. He understands young people easily and befriends them with love. He has an important part in Mission 95, Builders 97, Thodarottam Thodaratum which helped many full time ministers to get to FMPB.

After completing his collegiate education, for a short period of time, he worked with the Youth Wing at Palayamkotai’s Office. Later, he studied theology. He worked for a while at Mumbai’s Tamil Church as a pastor and later at Periyakulam near Theni. Even there he established a prayer group and also he established youth prayer groups in many churches. Those prayer groups are still active. At present, he is a pastor at Devakottai. He has started a prayer group there in addition to another 4 prayer groups.

Even after becoming a pastor, he is still concerned about young people. He spends his time, talents and everything for young people. His desire is that young people should do the Lord’s Ministry. He loves Tamil language. FMPB was started by a few young people. So he points out to everyone who reads this article that young people should have priority for prayer.

How is your life, dear young person? Live as a magnet which attracts people towards Christ. Encourage the people to get the vision to become a missionary in your prayer group to do the Lord’s work. Let your prayer group be an instrument in establishing new prayer groups.

Lab Kidney:

Every year 1.5 Lakh Indians are in need of Kidney transplantation. But only 5000 receive a transplant. This is because many kidneys are not donated. Boston Scientists have successfully developed kidneys for rats and have found it to be working just like a natural kidney. They suggest developing lab kidneys for human beings too. This will solve the need for the kidney donation.

God Loved Leah: Even though Leah was cheated by her father and hated by her husband, she was loved dearly by the Lord. She was blessed with 7 children whereas Rachael had no child. Leah gave birth to Levi who turned into God's special people. Our Lord Jesus Christ was born in the clan of Judah, who again was one of her children. In 1996, he was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent intense chemo-therapy and recovered from cancer in three years. Even during the days of his ailment, he was anxious to return back to cycling practice to win med-als. He won seven consecutive medals in cycling between 1999 and 2005. He set a world record in cycling. He an-nounced his retirement in 2005 yet re-turned back in 2008 for international cyclic events. In the meantime, he was ac-cused of taking prohibited doping drugs. He refuted it for many years. He

accused that it was a plan to defame him. He described that the drugs were taken for an ailment in his feet. Still there were strong evidences for his drug consump-tion. There were around 26 witnesses against him. He was accused of consum-ing doping drugs and instigating others to consume the same. The American Anti doping Agency seized the medals he had achieved in the past 7 years on August 24, 2012. He was banned for lifetime to participate in any cyclic event. He fought against it legally and won. In an interview with Ophrah Winfrey in the month of January, 2013 he con-fessed his drug consumption. This shocked the world. In his statement, he said on a sad note, “I have made a terrible blunder in my life. I’m enduring punishment for the same. The zeal to win forced me to do this. I threatened those who witnessed against me with my financial power. I never realized that consumption of doping drugs is wrong. I forced my co-players also to consume drugs. My inner voice kept telling me to confess my fault. Only now I have found courage to confess my misdeeds. I know that my fame will be gone forever and none will trust me again”. What a pitiable life? It is good to desire for victory but it is sinful to follow short-cut paths. GOD desires to see us walk in the path of uprightness in all our ways. We should not follow the world in mischief but stand for truth, righteous-ness and honesty. Sin easily entangles us. It is hard to cover a sin. It destroys the one who sins. It affects those around us. The only solution to sin is the Blood of Christ. There is no salvation without Him. It is good to confess the mistake, turn away from sin to live a repented life.

Key Verse: “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who con-fesses and renounces them finds mercy” – Proverbs 28:13. -Sylvia

Importance of Church PlantingWe should work with a sharp sighted goal and determination to establish churches. More than the knowledge of where we are, we should keep reminding us our destination. This will help reaching our goal effectively. When we build a church, we should keep the End result in our mind; the reason for building the church should be clear in us.1.Know the Will of GOD in prayerPrayer and fellowship is required in preparation to church planting. Personal prayer and prayer fellowship will lead us towards our goal in planting churches. In the path of ministry, personal prayer strengthens our relationship with GOD. Prayer and Bible reading are the two weapons that get us closer to God. John the Baptist did not do any miracle but the personal relationship he had with God made him a useful vessel in the hand of God. Prayer fellowship is inevitable. FMPB was started by sharing the burden of one particular individual with his co-missionaries. They began to pray. Thus FMPB was founded. Likeminded prayer warriors continue to do this ministry all around our country.

An individual’s vision+ vision of an organization= A common far-sighted vision->Church planting->Evangelism->God’s Kingdom all over India

2..Far-sighted vision- achievable goals:Before venturing into a project of planting church in a place, we should take a survey and know about the land, its population, and food habits of the people, their religious beliefs and their way of worship. We should start collecting these details before building a church in a place.3.Invent methodologies to evangelize:This is very important as outreach should be done differently in every place. For instance, Jesus film can be shown to people at villages to reach them with the gospel. But this approach cannot be followed to preach to people in the IT industry and other young people in the city. Tracks can be given to those who know to read them. Tracks when given to women in village can be of no great use as they don’t have good education.

Therefore, it is important to choose the method of evangelism to every group of people. We should not force the people to take decision but give them adequate time:It will be disastrous in calling people to accept the LORD soon after displaying Jesus film. They should be left to think about the film they had just witnessed and come to a conclusion who is their Savior.4.Church training centers should be established:We should choose certain elders and young people from the congregation and train them to take responsible roles in the church. Finally, to motivate us in church planting and to know its importance, we should read more biographies on missionaries and the church history. Church planting is the

mission of GOD. We should involve ourselves in this plan. Let us plant churches in the place we reside and also far and wide.William Carey said, “Do great things for God; Expect great things from God”. It is true that the LORD used William Carey. It is true that God uses the missionaries too. God wants to use you t. What is your answer? Rather than saying a ‘No’, will you say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me?”

A mechanic was called in to repair the mechanism of a giant telescope. During the noon hour the chief astronomer came upon the man reading the Bible, “What good do you expect from that? The Bible is

out of date! Ha, you don’t even know who wrote it.” The mechanic was puzzled for a moment. Then he looked up, “Don’t you make considerable use of the multiplication table in your calculations?”

“Yes, of course” returned the other.“Do you know who wrote it?”“Why, no, I guess I don’t.”

“Then”, said the mechanic, “How can you trust the multiplication table when you don’t know who wrote it?”

“We trust it because…..Well, because it works?” the astronomer finished cynically.“Well, I trust the Bible for the same reason – it just works” – Anonymous.

In a year or two, the wastage generated by the Indian Railways will increase by 5 times from the present level.3,980 Mega Ton of human excreta are produced in trains daily. In Delhi Railway Station alone, 6,758 kilo of plastic wastes are dumped and gathered.

Approximately 64 gms of waste are generated by a single commuter in Indian Railways.

Psalm 33 – The book of Psalms is the hymnal of ancient Israel. The first three verses of Psalm 33 are particularly helpful in the area of music. The purpose of godly music is to rejoice in God, who has given us new life. This type of praise can come only from people who have been cleansed by God’s grace and renewed by His Spirit. The psalmist described this praise from the righteous as “beautiful”. The psalmist’s advice that we sing “a new song” is not simply a call for new music. To sing a new song means to sing to God with a fresh sense of wonder at all He has done for us. We are to “play skillfully” because we are playing to the lord, and we must offer Him only our best. The psalmist’s final advice in verse 3 is to play “with a loud noise”. Even if you are going through a tough time, you can find joy in His presence as you worship Him.

The Sound of the Bullet bike signaled the pedestrians to move away from the road. But a white dog kept walking, still at the centre of the road. The path it traversed did not contain its footprints but drops of blood followed him. One of its front legs was badly wounded which made the dog limp all the way. The man on the Bullet bike was a Veterinary doctor. He went compassionately near the dog with his first aid box. He caressed its head with his right hand and the dog began to lick his hands. It was not just a lick but a kiss on his hand. He took the dog to the tree shade and kept cuddling the dog’s head and simultaneously bandaged its broken leg. Finally he tapped the dog once again and kicked his Bullet, carried him home. On a pleasant morning, with a cup of tea on his left hand and newspaper on the other hand, the Veterinary doctor was surprised to hear the sound of scratching at his door. To his surprise, he found the same white dog at the door. He administered medication to the dog that followed him faithfully to his home. This continued for a week and the dog stopped coming after that. The doctor inquired his wife if the dog came. She replied a ‘No’ and

said that a week long ordeal of medication is over. Few months rolled by. Again the sound of scratching was heard at the door. The doctor’s wife opened the door and informed her husband the arrival of his good old guest and a new arrival too. The doctor was awe struck as though he had witnessed an Eighth wonder. The white dog stood front followed by a white spotted black dog. The black dog had a limping leg as a boy had thrown a stone at him. The doctor had compassion on the dog and treated the second one too. After getting better, both the dogs left him. My heart has been pricking me since the day I heard this incident. To how many have you introduced the Heavenly doctor, who has healed your soul? Have you shared GOD’s love to someone today? These questions have lessened burden on me now. It’s because I’ve started introducing GOD to the people I meet at the railway station, auto rickshaw, special gatherings. It’s been easy to lead them to the loving presence of our LORD. Glory to GOD! My dear Reader, we had been discussing about Soul-winning/Personal Evangelism this month and the previous month too. Do ponder on this. You have been called to do this ministry.Let us meditate on the mindset of those who minister and those who were ministered unto:In the older times, water booths were set by generous men to serve the society. I was involved in this humane thing when I was young. I was actively involved in serving curd and buttermilk. These days, water booths are opened by Politicians here and there. Lakhs of rupees are spent for the opening ceremony of such booths these days. In a few days, these booths get turned into the haunting place of hooligans and sometimes a manger for

The Veterinary Doctor The friend who got the medicationThough he rode on a speeding Bullet, he did not fail to notice a frail dog.

They are the ones, wounded in the body (with a wounded heart too). They long for love. There will be noticeable sluggishness in their work.

The doctor did not ignore the hurt dog after he had noticed him.

We can easily decipher who is in want. We require a unique perspective for the same.

The doctor was kind to the dog to earn his attention and love.

We should treat our friends who come to us. We should understand their situation and be gentle with them.

He did not let the surrounding environment embarrass or entice him.

We can have a slight delay in proclaiming Christ but we should never be hesitant about it. We should never allow the clouds of fear, shame to be silent without proclaiming Christ.

He got back to his bike only after finishing the task he had begun; finishing it perfectly.

Soul winning should be done patiently with utmost care. The empty hearts should be filled. We should finally have a satisfaction of doing a good job.

The doc finished his medication and finally cuddled the dog’s head to show his love for him.

When your friend leaves you, he should long to see you again. It should be a relenting farewell.

When the faithful dog followed him to his home, he took care of him without calculating on the cost for food or shelter.

This ministry involves spending one’s time, strength and money. We should always be ready to meet out other’s needs.

He gave medication everyday to the ailing dog to make it perfectly alright.

Following up a soul after salvation is very important. We should patiently answer their questions and solve their doubts. There is still much scarcity for this kind of ministry.

He willingly gave treatment to the second dog that was brought to his home.

Till the new believer gets matured, he will bring his friend to you to help him out in things he is not able to sort out. Do not consider this an added burden but a desirable ministry. This serves as a training institute for the new believer.

He continued serving both the dogs with love and care.

First love is very important. Acting as though you haven’t changed does not pay; you have to show it out by your deeds.

the cattle. Is there anyone who does such service to the animals? As I had no such opportunity, an encounter with an animal always remains with me as a sweet memory. It was a Wednesday, 13th of march, 1984. It was the day my brother Wesley, who resides at Immanuel street, Trichy got married. The Wedding took place at the CSI church in Kannyakumari near Kottarai. I started from Trichy for the wedding and reached little late for the wedding service. I did not want to disturb those at the service and so I joined the company of those who were under the tree. We could feel the heat of summer on that bright day as the service began little late. My eyes whirled around and noticed a donkey standing near a Hand Pump. It was waving his tail and head for a long time. I suddenly got a conviction in my heart if this five-sensed animal had an intense thirst on such a hot day. I went near the pump. The animal fixed his huge eyes on me. I began to pump, though it was little

hard. All six-sensed beings around me kept watching us. As water began to gush out of the pump, this five-sensed being which follows the lineage of the animal that carried Jesus on its back, bent down to have a drink. He drank till he was satisfied and then left blinking his eyes. The donkey which kicks back when disturbed shook his tail to show his gratitude before he left. I found a new satisfaction in what I had done to my five-sensed friend. Even now when I recall this as one of my most satisfying deeds and my soul feels the same happiness of drinking from the clean waters of siruvani. Ok Friends! You are all the leaders of Youth Prayer fellowship. Do send me your points on Soul winner/ The won soul, based on the above passage you have just read through (At least 5 points with Biblical references). Prizes of Appreciation await you!

him joyfully. In the Bible we read about how people like Moses, Joseph, David and Abraham gave their priority to the Lord and were honored. God wants us to mediate on His words and live according to it. Because, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timo.3:16,17) When we give the Lord, the first priority in our lives, He will take care of our lives and will bless us according to His word, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Mat.6:33)

A devout Christian, Liddell wanted to go to church on that day, as Sunday is the Christian Sabbath. When he told his decision to his coach, his coach condemned him saying that Eric was acting foolish. Even in newspapers it was written that Eric lacked patriotism for his country. But Eric didn’t care about these and gave his priority to the Lord. Do you know what happened in his life? In the same Olympics, he asked his coach’s permission to participate in the 400 meters race. But his coach discouraged him saying that it would be difficult for

According to the God’s word, “Those who honor me I will honor”. (1Sam 2:30), God honored him. By God’s grace he received gold medal in 400 meters race and bronze medal in the 200 meters race.
