A Bangau resident who declinedto reveal his name told Streets thatAvilla apartment residents had ac-cess to Jalan Puchong and the BukitJalil highway and did not have torely on the short cut through theBangau residential area."Ofcourse, it's a shortcut for them,but it is at our expense as we have toput up with increased pollution,noise and risk to the safety of ourchildren as there is a playgroundnearby."More importantly, Bangau resi-dents are paying monthly for thesecurity guards due to the increas-ing crime rate here."Wehave to protect ourselves andour homes as the police are short-handed," he said."Allowing outsiders free access toour housing estate prevents our se-curity guards from ensuring thesafety of residents here."
