However, the Res-pondents role in this field of employmen't creation was insignif-cant and should be ignored by tthe Court.The Respondents on 'the other hand submitted 'that tlw Clai-mants are the best paid compared to ptheir counterparts in the,other industries. They considered the oser's made to the claixm -ants reasonable and in line with the wage's guidelines, .Fhichvaccording 'to the D.M .PD . report amounts .to an over compensa-tion under the permissable wages guidelines. erhe respopdtntsstressed 'that during the years 1982/.83 and 1983 /84, employpontlevel grew at about 3.0 per 'cent and 5.0 per cent . respectwely.Besides, majority of individual member 'banks 'had reflectod ' annnnual employment growth ranging lxtween 0.7 and ' 3.7 ' m. rcent during the same m riod. They pointed out that, in therecent report b' y the Presidential Committee on Unemploymentit was consrmed tha't the guidelines should .contiime in theirp'resent form taking into consideration various ecpnomic foroes' .The court in consideration of the 'strong viows advanced . agahptthe application 'of the guidelines, would like to ' :point out that,ewhereas in 'the recent years the court 'has yegigtered. some agree-ments in excess of the wage guidelines, the coui't must' con.tinue to be broadly gi ided by 'the guidelinej 'bu't without prerjudice to the courts powers under Guide .(V). parties during the hearing the court was tol'd by the 'Claimantsthat the Respondents management earned vas't salaries in re-l'ation 1to theirs whîch continued to widen the gap between t'hetwo groups instead of narrowing it.
