• Registration will be accepted through the mail, in person or online on a first-come, first-served basis. NO PHONE IN REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED. Cost of activity must be paid in full when registering except when stated differently. Please follow registration procedures listed below.

Online RegistrationOnline Registration catalog can be accessed via www.co.kent.de.us/parks-recreation.aspx. MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card payments are processed through Authorize.net; however, refunds must be processed through Kent County Parks and Recreation; al-low up to 2 weeks for processing. All other refund policies apply.

Mail or Walk-in RegistrationPayments may be made with cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. Make checks payable to Kent County Parks & Recreation and mail or hand deliver to: 1683 New Burton Road, Dover, DE 19904. For your protection, please do not mail cash. All returned checks will have a $30 service charge.• It is recommended that registration be received ONE WEEK BEFORE THE FIRST SCHEDULED CLASS OR BUS TRIP unless otherwise noted. • Requested receipts can be sent by email, office pickup or mailed (participant must provide us with a self-addressed stamped envelope). Participants can make the request on the registration form. • Completed form must accompany payment. Program ModificationThe Kent County Parks and Recreation Division invites people with and without disabilities to enjoy our programs, parks, and facilities. It is the policy of the Kent County Levy Court that all programs be accessible to all Qualified Handicapped Individuals as provided in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The text message notification system would only be used for the program you are currently participating in and re-late only to important messages such as cancellations, changes to schedule, or other necessary updates. In order to receive the text message notifications, you must submit your mobile carrier name when signing up for an account, or let us know by answering the question during registration check out. If you have any questions regarding this helpful program, please call our office.

REFUND POLICYRegistration fees for recreation programs/activities must be paid in advance and shall be refunded in full to the payer of record if the County cancels the program/activity. If a partici-pant cancels his/her participation in a program at least five (5) days prior to the first scheduled day, a full refund shall be paid less a $5 processing fee pursuant to County ordi-nance. Refunds will not be given for any other reason.

GENERAL INFORMATION• Classes, activities, and trips are subject to cancellation for any reasonable cause. • For weather and last minute cancellation information, please view our website (co.kent.de.us) and facebook.com/KentCounty ParksandRec. Timely program cancellation notifications will be done by phone or email by Staff.• Please make sure that the instructor is present before dropping your child off at a program.• Arrive to pick up your child at least five minutes before the program’s scheduled closing. Failure to pick up your child on time may result in expulsion from the program.• A child may be expelled from a program with no refund after notifying parent of disciplinary problems.• The Department may photograph programs and participants for publicity purposes, such as the brochure, facebook, twitter, etc.

• The Department has the right to adjust any of the program details in the brochure including fees, locations, instructors, times, days and starting dates.

I hereby acknowledge that in using the facilities, programs and equipment of Kent County Parks and Recreation, I do so entirely at my own risk and I assume the risk of any injury and/or damage while engaging in any physical exercise or activity or use of any facility on the premises. This assumption of the risk includes, without limita-tion, my use of the gymnasium, athletic courts, lobby, hallways, ath-letic fields, parks, sidewalk, parking lot, seating, or any equipment in the facility/park. Credit Card Use PolicyKent County Parks and Recreation cares about the safety of your credit card information. We will no longer accept mailed, or phoned in credit card payments. Credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) can be made in person at our main of-fice, or via our online registration catalog (CivicRec). Kent Coun-ty Parks and Recreation can only accept credit card payment by the authorized account holder as displayed on the card.

We will concentrate on a rich, beautiful avocado soap and a gentle carrot, buttermilk and oat-meal soap. You will make one loaf of your choice to take home, cut and cure for 4-6 weeks before use. It’s not difficult, but there is a chemistry behind it and safety measures to take. The ingredients and the soap making utensils needed to make your own loaf of natural soap will be provided. There will be a variety of essential oils available to scent your soap, and some botanicals to decorate your soap. At the end of the class you will take home your soap in its own reusable mold. You will receive a pamphlet with the basic in-structions, resources and a recipe to take home. Please wear a long sleeved shirt and closed toe shoes. Please tie back long hair. OILS FOR INFLAMMATIONSess: Tue, May 7 AC#EOILS507Inflammation is the leading cause of pain and other medical conditions. Learn what causes it and what essential oils can be used to decrease the symptoms. Feature oils: Geranium, Ginger, Juniper Berry and Myrrh. Participants will make an anti-inflammatory lotion.

The Howell Mill Nature Center is tucked into the trees at Brecknock County Park, 80 Old Camden Road, Camden, DE. Originally a granary for the working mill, this historic and rural building has been transformed into a center for historical and environmental education. The Nature Center is open on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ALL PROGRAMS ARE FREE TO THE PUBLIC.

Spring Time! • Saturday, April 13thAfter a long, cold winter, it is time to observe signs of spring. We will have guided hikes at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The hikes are approximately 1-hour long. Do not forget your nature or travel journals. This will be one for the books. All ages welcome.

All About Otters • Saturday, May 11thDid you know we have otters in Delaware? The North American River Otter is a fun-loving mammal who spends most of his time in the water. So, slide on in for otter education and fun activities in celebration of World Otter Day!

Bald Eagles • Saturday, June 8thThe Bald Eagle became our nation’s symbol in 1782. Weighing up to 14 pounds with a 7.5’ wingspan, this large raptor has many awesome creature features. Join us at the nature center for Bald Eagle related activities.

Kent County Parks and Recreation is looking for families, individuals, groups and volunteer organizations to help Kent County observe Earth Day 2019. Volunteers will be planting a limited amount of replacement trees, mulching trees, resurfacing trails and picking up litter generated from the adjacent shop- ping center to the Hunn Nature Park.

There will be something for all ages and abilities to do. Please bring leath-er work gloves, hard-soled, lace-up shoes or boots, a round-point shovel and a garden rake if you have one, we have a limited quantity of rakes and shovels on site. Be sure to dress ap-propriately for outdoor work and the weather.

If you wish to be an “Adult Team Leader”(over 18) you will be required to register in advance and attend a lunch-time “Safety Training” the day before the event (Friday, April 19) at 11:30 a.m. at the site. Pizza and bever-ages will be provided by Kent County. Volunteers will be assigned to Team Leaders on the day of the event.
