The four of us were able to ventureto Colorado for a few days of

relaxation and rest,Doug, Dina, Camryn and Jack sureknow who to great their guests!We were able to do some hiking,

explored Denver & went toRed Rocks to see Train,

A lot of great memories wewere able to gain.

We hosted Thanksgiving again this year,we had a houseful who shared the day,Storytelling, friendly ribbing and muchlaughter seem to be the Kenkel way.

While the card playing got competitiveand even a little heated for a spell,

The rightful champions were crowned;Grandpas Norm and Ron no longer

have tales of victory to tell.

Although not die hard Royals fans,we did get caught up in their late season run,

Tyler took in a playoff game while Haileyexperienced Power and Light District fun.

We continue to follow Bearcat sportswith great interest and zest,

We will really miss a great group ofsenior players who helped make

their teams the best.

As Christmas draws near, we hope this notefinds you in good spirits and health,

And remind you to give thanksto the things in your life that

bring you internal wealth.May your holiday season be filled with

many blessings and theBell of Joy ring loud and clear,

gone by the wayside,It was filled with a lot of

experiences; a veryaction-packed ride.

We’d like to update you on

our status; give you a bitof the Kenkel scoop,

We feel it is our obligationto do our very best to

keep you all in the loop!

Cindy stays hard at it; many wonder howshe keeps up with her grading,

In light of the fact that she claimsher memory is quickly fading.

But she is relentless; she always has thebest interests of her students in mind,

A more motivated and dedicatedteacher would be difficult to find.

Her dogs still control her universe,

their lofty standing never in doubt,High end dog food & treats keep them plump & stout.Along with buddies Mac Bostwick and Pocket Owens,

they often pull Cindy throughout the ‘Ville, Oh so many smells to sniff and so many yards to fill!

Cindy and Hailey took a trip toSan Francisco to see niece Mollie,

It was an enjoyable trip, full of exploration and folly.She seems most content at home, surrounded by

homework, her dogs and the TiVo remote,And doing all of the other things

necessary to keep the household afloat.

Phil got his 100,000 mile tune-up this year;spending a lot of time at the medical center,

After a handful of procedures heclaims that he is feeling much better.

Gall bladder removal, colonoscopy, heartcatheterization and an angiogram were standard fare,

He got a little worried when Cindy startedexploring policies for nursing home care!

He finally has his mojo back, and seems

to be going at it full throttle,As evidenced by the fact that he recentlygot rid of his last Geritol bottle.

He keeps busy taking care of rentals and findingprojects around the house to complete,

Remodeling the basement may havebeen his most impressive feat.

He is writing his last big federal grant for work;retirement looms not too far down the road,

It seems like now is the time forhim to lesson his work load.

He won’t be able to sit st ill; he alreadyhas a long list of things he wants to get done,

Some of them involve a lot of work, butsome of them involve a lot of fun!

Hailey enjoyed a study abroad trip toEurope; exploring Austria, Hungary

and part of the Czech,She experienced business presentations

during the day and late nightsat popular discotheques.She spent part of the summer as afacilitator at an outdoor high ropes

course and climbing wall,Her greatest feat was getting Cindy acrossthe high ropes course without a single fall.

Hailey has many stories to share of her timespent supervising at the campus rec center,

She is continually thinking about howtheir activities and events could

serve the students better.She spent weekends engaging in variousactivities, always seeking avenues of fun,

These included concert going, visitingfriends and the occasional color run.

She is almost through with her graduatedegree; now plans are forming

for what lies ahead,The whole notion of leaving Maryville seems

to be something she is going to dread.But soon resumes’ will be flying;

letter of applications will be signed,

Her place in the adult world is outthere waiting for her to find.

Tyler turned 20 in July and completedhis first year of college,

He seemed to have a lot of fun, whileadding some degree of knowledge.

He still is not quite sure of a major; he has afew interests he might want to pursue,

Putting off that decision seemslike the logical thing to do.

He and his friend Boston moved into one ofGma Della’s rentals in the first part of May,  Wal-Mart should be enjoying

record sales of Lysol spray.They haven’t burnt the place down yet;

it seems to be going aswell as could be expected,

We are quite confident that washing dishesand cleaning are not being neglected.

He spent five weeks working at afireworks store, getting some sales

experience along the way,Long hours and “interesting” customers

seemed to make up his normal day.He’s been dating Kiana for over a year now,

they sure seem to be a good fit,Not many people can understand andappreciate that good old Kenkel wit.
