Hughes said the PTA-sponsored show was a big hit. “There were smiles from ear to ear in the audience and among the performers,’’ she said. “A couple of the students even gave me high fives when they came off stage.” Kelley School Principal Teresa Prinzi was so proud of the students. “I am so impressed and amazed at the courage and talent our students display,” she said. “For a young student to stand on stage and perform to a large audience is so incredibly impressive.  They should be very proud of themselves for what they have accomplished and the skills they have demonstrated.”    Pieters’ husband Rich handled music for the show, using his own sound system. NHS senior Ryan Tracy, who recently played Officer Lockstock in “Urinetown” at Newark High School, skillfully emceed the talent show again this year, injecting humor and levity throughout. And he was quick on his feet at keeping the audience engaged during a few glitch moments in the show. “Ryan is such a treasure _ he made the show so much fun,” Hughes said. Kelley School fourth grader Jenna Havert designed the front cover of the program and fifth grader Rachel George designed the back cover. Kelley School student government members, who held a contest for program art, also ushered at the show. Kelley School instrumental teacher Cindy Briggs helped with technical and stage support. Cookies and water were provided by the PTA after the show.

Lots of music.
