About Us
The Bishop Kearney soccer program is com-
mitted to teaching soccer to players. Soccer is
a game of decision making and skill. Our
coaches focus on developing the technical abil-
ity of players, as well as, improving their abil-
ity to competitively think their way through a
game.

Kings Player Development
Bishop Kearney Soccer succeeds because of its
commitment to a player’s developmental pro-
cess. From their first practice to their last
game, the fundamentals of possession are
taught. From the technique of striking and re-
ceiving the ball to movement off the ball, eve-
ry player in our program grows in ability and
knowledge. These points of emphasis will be
taught throughout the Bishop Kearney Soccer
Camp.
What to expect at camp

Conduct
The Camp Director reserves the right to dis-
miss any camper for misconduct. No refunds
will be given in this case.

Discounts of $25 are available for any of the

Camp Director
Steve Strauss recently finished his 3rd season
as the head coach of the boys’ varsity team at
Bishop Kearney. He spent the four previous
years as the varsity assistant coach before tak-
ing over the reins. In 2017, he led the team to a
record of 13-5-1 and the program’s 4th Section
V Championship. In his three years as head
coach, the team has reached the championship
game twice and compiled a record of 33 – 20 –
4.
Strauss is a graduate of Bishop Kearney High
School and St. John Fisher College. He teaches
middle school science at Bishop Kearney.
Coaches
Bill McKee has coached soccer at every level
locally, from varsity to club to ODP, for the
past 30 years, including a Sectional Champion-
ship and a New York State Runner-Up finish in
boys’ soccer in 2001.
Other area coaches,
as well as, upper
classmen on the
Bishop Kearney
soccer team are
expected to assist
with the camp.
