If there is much distance between hoist and power, use the bigger power cable than standard requirements as there may be a drop of electric pressure (rapid drops) or overheating of hoist motor and cable and etc..

4. Warning points after installation 1) If there are more chains than two, check if the chains get twisted like in the FIG.3 (Twisted chains can cause chain breaking)

2) Apply oil on the chains surely, which will lengthen the life span of chains and prevent troubles (refer to FIG.4) Also, keep chains clean all the time, or it will cause chain breaking.

Please do not use grease absolutely.

(FIG.3)

(FIG.4)

3) If the bottom hook won’t go up but go down when you press “up” of Push Button Switch at the state of unload (negative operation), change the connection of 2 phases among three phases of R, S, T as shown in the FIG.5 and it will work well and normally.

If you keep operating the machine in the opposite direction in the state of negative phase, it will cause serious damages to the machine.

(FIG.5)

(a) (b)

In case that (a) is negative operation, change the connection of 2 phases R and T like (b)

4) Assemble the machine in the way the welding part of the load chain faces the outside lest that part should rub against the load sheave.(FIG.6) (In case of repairing and replacing the load chains)

case of repairing and replacing the load chains)

(그림.6)

O.K! - Welding joints outside No! - Welding joints inside

5. Checking points on operating 1) Checking points before operating a hoist. - Is oil applied on the load chain? - Are the load chains entangled if the load chains are more than two? - Does it work downward though you press “up” of push button?

- Does the push button work smoothly? - Does the overload limit switch work at the state of unload? - Does the brake work well without slips? (TABLE3) - Does a trolley work well without any interference on the monorail?

Don’t make a deformation of load chain on purpose. 2) Checking points on operating

Observe the followings for security.

1. Don’t convert a hoist into a lifter or an elevator for cargo. 2. Don’t use a hoist to lift up goods slantingly. (FIG.7) (If not, it will cause troubles to a hoist.) 3. Goods should not exceed rated load limit, and don’t allow anyone to go under loaded goods when a hoist is working. (FIG.8)

- Never drag the push button cable to move a trolley when you want to connect trolley. - At normal use, don’t use over load limit switch. It is a way to prevent breakdown of a hoist. - Press the push button switch securely and thoroughly.(FIG.9) - Put up goods normally to hook block, and never use the machine irregularly.(FIG.10) - Don’t use the machine when the load chains are entangled.(FIG.11) - Don’t do any sudden plugging or continual inching operation.

How to connect trolley When you connect it to KUKDONG trolley, you can use it in various ways by connecting KD type hoists. Select a model among the following three trolley types. 1) Electric Motor Trolley : Model KD-1M 2) Geared Trolley : Model KD-1G 3) Plain Trolley : Model KD-1P 1. How to connect trolley and KD type hoist 2. How to install trolley on the runway beam 3. How to connect electric power source 1. How to connect trolley and KD type hoist (FIG.14) 1) Make the top holder attached to the trolley face the stay bolt hole of hoist. 2) Insert a stay bolt in the hole on the hoist top and top holder.

3) Screw up the spring washer and nuts after inserting. 4) Fix them with split pins after screwing them up.

(FIG.14)

2. How to install trolley on the runway beam When you want to install a trolley on I-beam or H-beam type, set them up in the following way. 1) Check the width of the beam for running and the trolley. (Roller wheels of trolley are divided into two; one is for I-beam and the other is for H-beam) 2) Assemble them by adjusting the adjusting collar on the stay bolts to the inside or the outside of side places. (TABLE8)

(TABLE8)

No. of Collar

Range of applicable beam breadth (mm)

Capacity (ton) 2 4 6 0.5S, 1S, 2D 75 100 125

2S 100 125 150

note) Since this table is about the specifications and collars and quantity of products KUKDONG hoist has manufactured as standards, adjust intervals and collars in accordance with the width of beam.

3) The simplest way is to install a trolley from the end of the runway beam. (FIG.15)

(FIG.15)

4) If you want to install in the center of beam as another way, after unscrewing stay bolts of the trolley and removing the side plate, put a trolley on the end of a beam and set the other side of the side plate to the stay bolt hole and screw them up. (FIG.16, 17)

(FIG.16) (FIG.17)

Since the trolley can fall from the runway beam, be sure to attach stoppers to both ends of runway beam. (FIG.18)

(FIG.18)

3. How to connect electric power souce 1) The main power cable should be installed in parallel with the runway beam, and the power cable should move together when a trolley moves. (FIG.19) 2) The cable wheels should be installed at intervals of 1.5m. 3) The curved runway beam should be installed in a different way. As an instance, the cable wheels follow the runway beam. 4) Since the rotating radius of curved runway beam is different according to the capacity of hoists, consult with agents about the specifications of right products suited to your working places.
