o In University campus there are Nine hostels. In every hostel there are solar water heater system is installed.

o In 29 buildings of university campus there are solar roof top system for electricity production is installed. And its total capacity is 620 KW.

o There are 5 nos of check dam and 2 nos of reservoir for rain water harvesting.

o Water absorption area of university land is more than 92%.

o Wet and dry garbage dustbin is provided in all buildings and internal road side of the University.

o University has constructed High Volume Fly Ash cement concrete road resulted less power consumption as less cement is consumed. Finally less pollution and low carbon emission in environment.

o Green building concept in new construction buildings has been stated in University.

o Replacement of Florescent lighting system into L.E.D. lighting system in University campus has been stated to reduce Electricity consumption.

-> Under RUSA grant, a new girls’ hostel for university students was constructed on the campus with the objectives of safe, homely and economic staying facilities with proximity to departments the students are enrolled with.- >The students and other stakeholders would be benefitted by the construction of New toilet blocks (Separate for boys & girls) at various relevant places throughout the campus accomplished under the RUSA grant.-> To boost research and innovations on the campus, a common science laboratory has been built under the RUSA grant which will develop central instrumentation facility for all science subjects on and off the campus. Thus, the research students of the University will get benefited for carrying out their experimental research work (for their M.Sc., M.Phil. and

Ph.D. degrees) at this central laboratory. This laboratory will be equipped by sophisticated research instruments from research and innovation components in the future RUSA phase.

18 Infrastructure Development due to RUSA Outcomes

(Renovation / Up-gradation )

-> Under renovation / upgradation grant of RUSA, the class rooms of almost all the PG departments of the campus are equipped with interactive / smart boards, multimedia projectors and ICT attachments. The students and teachers are thus getting an opportunity to explore interactive teaching – learning technology (ICT based) to understand their subjects.-> Under the RUSA grant, the existing research laboratories on the campus have been effectively renovated to perform better and carry out more sophisticated research experiments. Due to this, the research students and faculties of the University can work for longer time now with neater, cleaner and dust free environment, facilitating researchers with better control over their biological experiments and upgrading the existing sophisticated instruments to match higher level and contemporary research requirements.-> Regarding the library set–up on the campus, under this scheme of RUSA grant, the library infrastructure has been upgraded efficiently facilitating students with preparation for various course-related and competitive exams. In addition to this, large number of new books and e–journals / e–resources for research students and PG students has been procured in the library through a book fair organized on the campus with active involvement of major publishing houses on one hand and all faculties and students on the other.-> To uplift the academic and research programs on the campus, to provide continuous and fast internet facilities for the research students and faculties and to cover almost all the online programs such as NPTEL, MOOC, etc., based learning, the computer center and E–campus of the University have been upgraded and up–scaled under the RUSA grant. In addition to this, large number of new high speed and high storage capacity computers has been procured under the RUSA grant.-> Under the RUSA scheme, the pre–existing sports complex has been upgraded and renovated to provide healthier environment to the students and other stakeholders of the University. Various facilities such as an international hockey ground, tennis and basket ball courts have been created, and newer equipments for gym have also been procured and upgraded.-> To facilitate the administration and academic activities on the campus in a better way, the administration section and academic buildings have been renovated and upgraded under the RUSA grant.-> Also, canteens, campus beautification, electrification and water supply facilities and other campus developments have been covered under the RUSA grant to improve the overall physical / infrastructural environment of the campus making it a more holistically conducive and welcoming place of higher education. The overall objective of all these developmental activities on the University campus achieved through the RUSA

grant is to make this University a place of choice for the youth of this region and beyond to fulfill their higher educational aspirations.

1 Construction of New combined laboratories

- The new combined laboratory shall house sophisticated scientific instruments for experimental and research work. Indeed this new combined laboratory is going to help students of multiple departments such as Department of Chemistry, Bio Sciences, Bio Chemistry, Bio Technology, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Physics, Department of Nano Science and Advance Materials, etc.

2 Construction of Girls Hostel - Students from far and interiors of the Saurashtra region and beyond this region come to pursue their studies. Girl students always prefer to stay in the

University hostels instead of other available accommodation. The new girl hostel is going to provide residential facility to many aspiring students. Hence, it a great support to the girl students of the Saurashtra University.

3 Construction of New toilet blocks On-going The students from the affiliated college of the Saurashtra University come on the campus for multiple reasons. They need basic facilities available on the campus while they visiting the University for necessary reasons. The new toilet block is going to provide basic facilities to the students on the campus and of the affiliated colleges.

Academic Building is certainly going to benefit the students as it is now more equipped with the facilities and amenities. The Academic Departments renovated were Hindi and Journalism.

2 Renovation of administrative building On-going The renovation of Administrative Building has made it more visible and spacious in terms of movement of students and access to the officials of the University. This renovation act is certainly going to benefit the students.

3 Renovation of hostels On-going Renovation of hostels has provided better facilities and amenities to the students residing in it. Hostels are now having better and cozy accommodation for the students.

4 Renovation of canteen / cafeteria On-going The renovation of

Canteen/Cafeteria has made more convenient and cozy space available for the students approaching it in recess hours. It has new ambiance and hygienic environment to provide better services to the students of the University.

5 Renovation of toilets - Toilet blocks of many Departments such ac Chemistry, History, Sociology, Economics, English, Electronics, Pharmacy and Convention Centre has been renovated. This renovation work has made the toilet blocs more hygienic and convenient for students.

6 Campus development (overhead water tank)

- The newly built of additional Overhead Water Tank is a great boon to the students as it is going to help the students with uninterrupted water supply on the campus including hostels and the departments.

On-going Indian council for cultural relations has resolved to admit 15% additional students of foreign national in the Post graduate and Ph.D. research. Students are from different countries having different food, Clothing and culture it is necessary to provide separate accommodation to each student with Bed room and a Living room cum kitchen. 1 Construction of New combined laboratories

- The new combined laboratory shall house sophisticated scientific instruments for experimental and research work.

Indeed this new combined laboratory is going to help students of multiple departments such as Department of Chemistry, Bio Sciences, Bio Chemistry, Bio Technology, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Physics, Department of Nano Science and Advance Materials, etc.

3 Construction of New toilet blocks

- The students from the affiliated college of the Saurashtra University come on the campus for multiple reasons. They need basic facilities available on the campus while they visiting the University for necessary reasons. The new toilet block is going to provide basic facilities to the students on the campus and of the affiliated colleges.

Building is certainly going to benefit the students as it is now more equipped with the facilities and amenities.

2 Renovation of administrative building

- The renovation of Administrative Building has made it more visible and spacious in terms of movement of students and access to the officials of the University. This renovation act is certainly going to benefit the students.

3 Renovation of hostels Work done Renovation of hostels has provided better facilities and

amenities to the students residing in it. Hostels are now having better and cozy accommodation for the students.

4 Renovation of canteen / cafeteria

- The renovation of Canteen/Cafeteria has made more convenient and cozy space available for the students approaching it in recess hours. It has new ambiance and hygienic environment to provide better services to the students of the University.

5 Renovation of toilets - A toilet block of many Academic Departments is necessary. This renovation work will made the toilet blocs more hygienic and convenient for students.

6 Campus development (Landscaping )

- The landscaping of the University campus is going to add value to the brand of the University. Such landscaping give a sense of retention on the campus among the students. Students are certainly going to be benefited by the campus landscaping.


- The laboratories in the science department have been renovating under the RUSA Grant. The renovation is going to help the student to do quality experimental and research work for their studies.

8 Up gradation of play ground - Up-gradation of Play Ground will provide better facilities for sports The student using sports facilities of the University are going to be benefitted by this at large.

9 Renovation / up gradation of library

- Library is the place most popular among students. The renovation/up-gradation of library is going to give them better amenities, comfort and facilities in the library premises.
