An X-ray map of the visible Universe will be created. 100,000 clusters and groups of galaxies, 3 million active nuclei of galaxies and quasars to be found.

International platform on Thermal Methods for Enhanced Oil Recovery of Unconventional Resources. More than 300 professionals from 47 companies and universities of 12 countries. It’s become a place for generation and dissemination of revolutionary "green" technologies of “in-situ oil refining”.
The only in Russia Cochrane Center – part of international organization Cochrane Collaboration developing the principles of evidence-based medicine. Part of the global network that includes 37,000 members from over 130 countries. About 90% of recommendations by the World Health Organization contain Cochrane evidence.
Global scientific consortium (includes 48 research organizations from over 20 countries). Aimed to create an atlas of gene expression in cells and tissues of human body. Since 2017 KFU has upgraded its status in this collaboration: from an ordinary member to the initiator of new project “FANTOM: Muscles”.

Kazan University has revived a tradition of awarding the Nikolay Lobachevsky Medal and Prize which dates back to 1893. The first prize was awarded to Dr. Richard Schoen (UC Irvine, USA) on 1st December 2017.
The jury of the newly established Leo Tolstoy Medal and Prize will be headed by Adviser to the President of Russia – Chairman of the Presidential Council for the Russian Language Vladimir Tolstoy, a descendant of the writer and a renowned museum professional.
