The residents didn’t know their lives were about to be changed
forever

All battered the Gulf Coast States for Hours
90,000 Square Miles declared
a disaster zone.
That’s an area twice the size of Pennsylvania
Over a million people affected
The city of New Orleans is without the basic needs of life. There is no running water, electricity, or sewage.
The standing water is a breeding ground for bacteria.
The residents will have to start a new life in a new place.Most of them are in
the shelters along with thousands of other people, waiting on financial aid.

The estimated cost of Katrina is said to be around 200 Billion Dollars.
$200 Billion Dollars could pay for 100 Space Shuttles.
