IT’S GREAT TO MEET YOU.
I am a public relations and marketing student who has gained a significant amount of leadership, project management and communications experience through many school activities, volunteer positions and jobs. Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication skills which I use when working with customers, the students I mentor, parents and school administrators. Managing a full load of classes, volunteer positions and a job mean that I have developed strong time management and multitasking skills, as well.
My work experience involved a variety of positions from sales to social media to digital marketing. I have enjoyed stepping into photography, videography and graphic design for the first time. I have developed several campaigns and learned the crucial importance of ROI. I am continuing to learn the impact of online media and a strong web presence. With the developing technology, I am excited to see what opportunities will be created throughout my career.

THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL TOOL
The truth about the world is that the truth doesn’t have power unless people know it. Nelson Mandela once said, “a good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.” The power of communication amplifies the truth, making it a force to be reckoned with.
I want to be on the army of those fighting for truth to be known using the most powerful tool known to man. I want to highlight the beauty that’s already happening in this world. I want to celebrate the humans impacting generations humbly and ethically. I want to personally know the power of influencing, motivating, and persuading simply by illuminating the good.
Because words matter.
It is the very thing that sets us sets us apart as beings, one of the things that essentially defines us as humans. It can elicit deep feeling, motivate people to action and define the nature of relationships. The juxtaposition of two words can bring tears to the eyes, call up a whole host of imagery and move us deeply. We have seen language recently used in the politics of persuasion, used for good or ill. Mere words can motivate armies, quiet tears, cause devastation or announce celebration. Words matter.
How we use language shapes our world both internally and externally. What we say to ourselves and about the world directly shapes our experience. How I deliver communication shapes the way the world responds to me. We can use language more effectively in both spheres: internal and external and directly influence the health and power of our personal relationships and our business relationships.

THANKFULAs my portfolio and internship with Waco Young Life come to a close, I am finding myself filled with gratitude. I am thankful for the opportunities both Baylor and Young Life have opened for me, knowing that I might not receive such gifts other places.
