Kathy has extensive experience with the Massachusetts and Rhode Island probate courts and their accompanying procedures. Kathy counsels clients through the entire administration process including appointing personal representatives (formerly known as executors) and trustees. preparation and allowance of accounts, preparation of federal and state estate tax returns and the smooth administration of complex estates. Kathy understands how to properly administer estate plans so that they succeed in minimizing taxes and transferring wealth to family members and other beneficiaries. In fact, the most satisfying aspect of her work is assuring that the decedent’s goals are accomplished. Kathy works closely with clients to value, consolidate and distribute probate and trust assets. The goal of her practice, which also extends to guardianships and conservatorships, is to provide not only experienced legal advice but also assistance with practical matters and support during a time of change and loss.
