OnJuly26,2019studentsofSalwanPublicSchool,MV-IIIcelebratedwithgreatpatriotic

fervourandenthusiasm,the20thanniversaryofKargilVijayDiwastopaytributetoKargil

Martyrswhoarethesymbolofcourageandsacrificeforsafeguardingthebordersofthe

Country.Onthisveryday,intheyear1999,Indiasuccessfullytookcommandofthehigh

outpostswhichhadbeenlosttoPakistani

intruders.

Thespecialassemblywasconductedina

verywell-coordinatedmannerwithflawless

compering by primary student,Maanvik

Bansal.The day commenced with the

hoistingoftheNationalFlagbyhonourable

Directoroftheschool,Brig(Dr)AKTyagi

(Retd)and the respected Principal,Mrs.

SeemaMalik,withduesolemnity&dignityattheschoolcampus.

ThepatrioticsongssungbytheschoolChoir

were melodious & filled every heart with

nostalgicfeelings.Theentireatmospherewas

filledwithpatriotism.Twostudents,Anikaand

Pradyumn spoke about the ‘Kargil War

Memorial’inDrass,whichhasbeenbuiltby

theIndianarmytocommemoratethevictory

Indiaachievedandalsotopaytributetoour

bravesoldiers.

Mrs.P.Maiti,esteemed teacher,delivered an

informative speech to throw lighton the great

sacrificesofthesoldiersatKargil,wholaiddown

theirlivesforthenation.Itfilledeverystudent’s

heartwithgreatpride&respectforthemartyrsof

theKargilwar.

Itwas an interesting way to instill‘sense of

respect’amongstudentsforourforcesthatsafe

guard the country from internaland external

exigencies.TheDirectoroftheschool,Brig(Dr)AKTyagi(Retd)inhisaddresstostudents

enthusedthem tobegratefulforgreatsacrificesofthesoldiers.Hefurtheraddedthat

theyshouldrealisethatwhilewesleepcomfortablyinourhomestheystandroundthe

clockguardingourborders.Heappreciatedtheinitiativesandeffortsofthestudents.

Theeventendedupwiththeentirestaffalongwith

the studentspaying homage to the soldiersof

Kargilbyobservinga1-minutesilence.Laterinthe

day,thedocumentaryshownbytheteachersin

each class made the event informative and

enlightening.Itexplainedthestudentsaboutthe

significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the

sacrifices of Kargil heroes,which was also

followedbyinspirationalandemotionalvideosof

the war.Students were literally in tears,after

watchingthehearttouchingvideos.

Thedayendedwiththestudentstakingapledgetonottakefreedom forgranted,rather

shouldstriveeverydaytomakeIndiaworthyoftheinvaluablesacrificemadeby theKargil

Heroes.
