The Reverend Alice D Hennessy was born April 10, 1940 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was the 7th child born to the union of the late Reverend Noah Sr. and Irene Goodson. Alice received her elementary and high school education through the Walton County public school district. Pastor Hennessy received her certification as an Interior Electrician, and devoted 21 years to the United States Government Federal Civilian Ser-vice as a Document Control Specialist on Eglin Air Force Base. Her service culminated with numerous awards and achievements. Through the years spent on Eglin Air Force Base, Pastor Hennessy gained many friends, ac-quaintances and honorary children. Pastor Hennessy devoted her life to Christ at the young age of 5. She gave her life to Christ while becoming a member of St. Mark A.M.E Church. Pastor Hennessy became a member of St. Joseph A. M. E Church in 1977. While being a member of this church she was a devoted member of the senior choir, the missionary society and was head of the Steward/Stewardess Board, and president of Women of Ministry. In 1994, Pastor Hennessy was called to preach and became a ordained and licensed minister of the gospel in the AME Church. Pastor Hennessy con-tinued to minster and preach the Gospel until she retired from her pastoral services in 2006. Pastor Hennessy was united in Holy Matrimony on October 31, 1964. From this union she was blessed with her only child, Lodie Karen Hennessy. Her husband Robert Lee Hennessy preceded her in death. Pastor Hennessy leaves to cherish her loving memories to her daugh-ter: Lodie Karen Hennessy of Crestview, Florida; her two granddaughters: Devon Hennessy-Thomas (Anthony Thomas) of Tallahassee, Florida and Sherise Hennessy of Crestview, Florida; three great granddaughters: Jordyn Kerrin, Jayde Lillian, Journey LeeAnn of Tallahassee, Florida; her sister: Norma Jean Hartfield (Booker T Hartfield, Sr.) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; her brother: Benny Ross Goodson, Sr. (Connie) of Chicago, Illinois; her sister-in-law: Joanne Hennessy-Lindsey of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In addition she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as friends and neighbors. Pastor Hennessy has gone home to reunite not only with her parents; but her three sisters, Lurene Baldwin, Erma Davis, and Bernice Kellogg and her three brothers: Noah Goodson, Fred J. Goodson and Wendell Goodson. Her spirit will truly be missed by all.
