Safety instructions
Work on electrical plant of steam turbine may be performed solely by trained and qualified electrical specialists or by other staff under the direction and supervision of an electrical specialist in conformity with the relevant electrical installation regulations
The following 5 safety rules must be observed prior to commencement of any work whatsoever on the electrical equipment / components / plants:
1. De-energize equipment by switching measures 2. Secure the equipment against re-closure 3. Verify that the equipment is de-energized (dead) 4. Earth and short-circuit the equipment 5. Cover adjacent parts which are under voltage or provide barriers
The electrical equipment of the steam turbine/generator should be inspected regularly. Defects should be repaired immediately
