For rotating applications the soft axis of the shear mount should be placed at right angles to the shaft whereas on mobile applications the shear mount is normally installed with the firm axis in the direction of travel.

Vibration Isolation

Spring Hanger EFSH Spring

Hangers consist of freestanding. laterally stable steel springs in series with a molded elastomeric element assembled into a stamped and welded hanger bracket. The hanger brackets and the springs are powder coated. Spring vibration isolation hangers are designed to provide high efficiency isolation from structure-borne vibration and noise. Springs are color-coded according to load ratings and are designed for 50% overload.

range of Closed Spring Isolators uses an integral rubber end fixing of the spring which sets them apart from all other designs. Loose springs and plates are now history and high frequency and noise attenuation is provided with stable mounting. Suitable for high load capacity upto 5000 Kg single point load.

Spring Viscous Damper Our

range of steel springs and damper units for the support of machines are used for applications as diverse as laboratory balances and turbo generator sets. Although standard components are used, each system is individuality designed and analysed to ensure that the correct stiffness and masses are provided to permit proper operation of the mounted equipment. First introduced over 40 years ago, these systems are now used world over having high viscosity damping fluid.

Floating Floor High deflection

isolators and rubber mats providing natural frequencies down to 6Hz. Each system is individually designed and analysed to comply with the specified performance. Applications include : Emanating and reverberant acoustic test chambers and high quality television, radio and recording studios. These structures usually are created as complete rooms isolated from the rest of the building.

Jack-Up Mount We believe that the

most fool-proof and safest way to establish the air gap is the jack-up or lift-slab method. Plastic sheeting is placed on the sub-floor as a breaker layer, isolators are placed on the plastic sheeting, reinforcing steel or mesh rests on the isolator housings, and the concrete floor is poured. After the concrete has cured, the slab is lifted to elevation by turning adjustment bolts above each isolator to any specified air gap between 1" and 4".

Inertia Base Fully welded steel

construct ion with integral concrete reinforcement fixed at 35 mm above bottom of frame. Recessed height reducing corner brackets designed to accept standard EFIB type EFOS open spring mountings. Frame thickness not less than L/12 where "L" is the longest side of the frame. Finished with a single coat of red oxide primer on external surface only.

Vibration Isolation

STB Mount range of compact rubber

unit isolators specially designed for marine and mobile applications. mount uses zinc plated steel components. The shapes of the top and the rubber elements are designed to increase stiffness and control movement under overload conditions. Rebound washers are incorporated to control movement due to ship or vehicle motion. Low height compact units, ideal for use where space is limited.

Spring Hanger Easyflex EFSRH

Hangers are used to isolate suspended sources of both noise and vibration specially for seismic applications of Suspended mechanical equipment such as air handling units, FCU's cabinet fans, piping and ductwork in close proximity to rotating mechanical equipment are typical applications of model EFSRH hangers.

Curbs & Bases Easyflex EFRSC curbs

are high quality, adjustable supports systems custom design for rooftop equipment vibration/seismic isolation. Each curb is custom built and incorporate3s both the roof curb and spring isolation into one complete structure.

effective shock and vibration control for all types of general metal working and processing machinery. They come with built in leveling feature and ribbed design of mounting base. Cuts the machine installation time from hours to minutes.

Seismic Isolation

Seismic V Connector Easyflex

Series Seismic “EFSVC” Connectors are one of the most effective ways to compensate for thermal expansion or the unpredictable pipe movements encountered during seismic activity. Series “EFSVC” Flexible Connectors are seismic connectors engineered to absorb movement in all directions. The unique “EFSVC” design places the flexible leg at 45 degree angles to the pipe run, even allowing up and down movements.

Rod Bracing Clamps The ERBC

Series are seismic rod bracing clamps used as additional support for bracing threaded rods used to suspend piping, ducts, conduit and other HVAC equipment. Seismic forces act in all directions. If not braced, the rod can buckle and fail.

Restrained Spring Mount EFRSM mounting has been designed specifically for applications where transmission of low frequency machinery vibration to a building structure must be reduced to avoid physical damage or annoyance to the occupants. Vertical and lateral restraint is provided to control movement of the mounted equipment when subjected to external forces. This could otherwise be excessive due to the low stiffness Springs required to provide isolation of low frequency vibration.

Cable Restraints - Gripple Lock The Gripple system is a complete

solution for suspending fixed loads. The system is supplied with lock units , suitable sized high tensile steel wire rope with preformed loop or in reel form. Ceiling hangers are also available.

Cable Restraints High Strength

Wire Rope grade 7 x 19 cable is available in three different diameters - offering design flexibility, durability and reliability. Pre-packaged kits contain all the necessary hardware for proper installation and to minimize labor costs. Several design option will withstand loads up to 4200 Ibs. Complies with national building code requirements such as IBC2000, IBC2003 and NFPA5000.

Wire Rope Isolator These Isolators

are used both for shock and vibration applications for both mechanical as well as electronic equipment. Three plane all axis isolation permits installation in all directions i.e., vertically, horizontally as well as laterally. The isolator are widely used for defense applications.

Seismic Snubber Fabricated of

welded steel components incorporating thick neoprene elastomer pads molded to Bridge Bearing quality specifications, the design of these restraints allows for the removal and replacement of the neoprene elements. These restraints are designed for a minimum of 1.0g accelerated force in all directions. Series K is suitable for loads from 250 kg to 11500 kg.

Restrained Spring Isolators Easyflex Model EFRSI Seismic Control Restrained Spring Vibration Isolators consist of free-standing, large diameter, laterally stable steel springs assembled into welded steel housing assemblies fabricated to limit vertical movement of the isolated equipment if equipment loads are reduced or if the equipment is subjected to large external forces such as a seismic events. The housings also provide a constant free and operating height to facilitate installation.

Thrust Restraint Easyflex Model

EFTR Thrust Restraints are used to counteract the discharge force created by fans during operation. ETR Thrust Restraints are used in pairs and best utilized when located on the centerline of the discharge outlet of the fan, bridging the flexible duct connector.

U-Connector The U-Connector is

simply a flexible variation of the tradition hard pipe loop. When installed in a pipe run the U-Connector's legs simply bend laterally to compensate for pipe's expansion or contraction. Unique to the loop is the incredibly low amount of force required to bend its legs, minimizing anchor loads, guiding and installation costs. The two flexible legs connected by an unrestrained return bend, will allow a predetermined amount of pipe movement in any direction. With the loops extreme flexibility and low force to move, the loop absorbs the seismic energy and imposes minimal loads on the adjacent pipe hangers, supports or nozzle loads on major equipment.

Couplings

Pin Bush Couplings Very simple in

construction, the Easyflex Pin Bush coupling is so designed that it transmits high powers and maximum speed. The purpose of fixing the flexible coupling is to transmit torque from one shaft to another, where misalignments may occur and also to absorb shock loads, etc. This type of coupling will permit drive on either direction, does not require any lubrication nor adjustment after fitting.

Jaw Type Couplings Easyflex jaw

coupling is a type of motion control coupling designed to transmit torque (by connecting two shafts) while damping system v ibra t ions , which pro tec t s o ther components from damage. Jaw couplings are composed of three parts: two metallic hubs and an elastomer insert called an element, but commonly referred to as a "spider". The three parts press fit together with a jaw from each hub fitted alternately with the lobes of the spider. The curved jaws of the hubs reduce deformation of the spider to maintain the zero backlash fit. Jaw couplings are best suited for applications that rely on a stop-and-go type of movement, where accuracy needs to take place upon stopping in order to perform any number of precision tasks

Tyre Couplings Easyflex Tyre

Couplings are highly flexible & resilient and absorbs large misalignment. It has low torsional Stiffness and dampens shock & vibration. The flexible element is made of rubber & reinforced with Nylon Chords. Ideally suitable for Diesel Engine Drives, Fans , Mills , Compressors , Rolling Mills, Pumps, Conveyors, DG Sets etc. It is easy to install, requires no lubrication and minimum maintenance.

Gear Couplings The fundamental

characteristic of Easyflex Gear Couplings is their high torque to size ratio, thus offering a compact assembly capable of both high loads and high speeds. The design of these couplings is such that it accommodates angular-offset or combined angular-offset misalignment within allowable ratings and permits axial float or thermal expansion of connected shafts.

Grooved Flexible Couplings

Easyflex flexible couplings allow for full design features in applications such as curved or deflected layouts and or when systems are exposed to outside forces beyond normal static conditions such as seismic events or where vibration and or noise attenuation are a concern. The ability to design in controlled flexibility is an advantageous feature when compared to traditional rigid joining methods such as threading, flanging and welding.

Grooved Rigid Couplings Easyflex rigid couplings can be used in application where you require a rigid joint similar to that of a traditional flanged, welded and or threaded connection. You need not worry about the snaking of the pipe on straight runs, as all Easyflex rigid couplings utilize both a mechanical and frictional interlock design to provide rigidity. Rigid coupling eliminate or reduce undesired angular movement, axial displacement and rotation after installation as is required under normal service conditions.

Design & EngineeringServices

Technical understanding of existing vibration, noise, acoustic or shock problems and how those problems relate to machine or structural performance is key to an organization's bottom line. Our technical experts provide that intrinsic "we understand" capability that leads to uncommon discoveries in problem solving. In addition to our own technical team, we also have a strategic alliance for research and development with Mechartes Researchers - a leading engineering services consultancy promoted and based at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. We strive to bring the best technology available right at your doorstep!

Our Engineering Services include;

Software Development for Customized Vibration Application - We develop software customized for specific client applications which automate the process of vibration analysis and choosing of appropriate vibration isolator/damper. Various standards and design codes are implemented in the software to increase their utility. The software is developed with an advanced graphics interface to make sure of usability.

Design of Vibration Isolators for Structures and Heavy Machinery - Many machine tools and mechanical equipment have dynamic deflection and stiffness requirements for their support foundations and/or structures. Our Civil and Structural Engineers design to frequency and stiffness specifications associated with the payload and stiffness requirements of the isolation system. We conduct modal analysis of various sub-components in the system using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), choosing appropriate mounting points, suitable foundation and appropriate isolators. We specialize in design of vibration isolation systems and foundation isolation beds for heavy industrial equipment including turbo generators, stamping presses, forging hammers, fans and blowers.

Design of Shock Mounts for Equipments and Structures- This would include conducting transient shock wave analysis using nonlinear FEA. Then understanding the system requirement and what kind of damping is required in the system (for example if electronic equipments are to be protected then high damping requirements is a possibility). Then designing damping system for various axis of vibration and finally analyzing the response after the dampers are installed.

Design of Foundations for Buildings to Improve Resistance to Earthquakes - We have seismic experts in our team who provide us with appropriate theoretical model to simulate shock vibrations for earth quakes in various seismic zones. These models are used for designing appropriate foundation and isolators/dampers in buildings based on building shape, size and structure. KIC’s expertise includes the design of rigid concrete masses and structural steel forms, which are often an integral part of an isolation system design.

Wind Load Analysis - In regions with high wind velocity (usually costal areas) vibrations are induced in building due to the wind load. We use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to simulate these wind loads and then come up with appropriate isolators/dampers to minimize the vibration damage to the buildings.

Software Licenses for Matlab, I-DEAS Fluent, Ansys, Nastran, ABAQUS, and LS-Dyna, Catia are available with us for our operations.
