An architec t by t ra ining, Andrea Peresthu worked as a regional p lanner and

academic at Del f t Univers i t y of Technology, The Nether lands, before becoming a

chef. He loves cook ing s ince he was 7 years o ld and his pass ion for food

cont inued whi le l iv ing in var ious European c i t ies for 15 years–such as Leuven,

Granada, Barcelona, Venice, and Del f t–where he got to t ravel and taste di�erent

cuis ines f rom around the wor ld.

With his par tner Reni Alhadad, he establ ished Javanegra Specia l t y Co�ee in 2011,

a specia l t y co�ee roaster with beans sourced f rom I ndonesia’s ra inforest . Three

years later, h is admirat ion of Spanish gastronomy, combined with his pass ion in

cook ing, wine, and enter ta ining led him and Reni to open their �rst pr ivate

dining space in Jak ar ta , Javanegra Gourmet Atel ier. He introduced Spanish

del icacies to the I ndonesian restaurant connoisseurs, with a s ingular focus on

comfor t gourmet food such as the except ional beef Rubia G al lega, Spanish

Carabineros, and Reser ved Jamon I ber ico Bel lota f rom Ex tremadura. Al l of these

high- qual i t y ingredients are impor ted week ly f rom Spain and ser ved f resh.

I n 2016, Reni and Andrea opened their �rst out let in Bal i , Barre ls by Javanegra ,

ser v ing tapas and other Spanish del icacies. Af ter operat ing for t wo years there,

they are now embark ing on a new cul inar y journey in the J imbaran area : a

steak house focusing on gourmet dr y aged beef, gr i l led in wood charcoal , and

ser ved with t radit ional Spanish grav y such as a l l io l i and a jo y parej i l , or with a

s imple sa l y aceite de ol iva .

Andrea and Reni journey in cul inar y brought them to establ ish the fol lowing

Spanish restaurants in Jak ar ta : At ico, Taverna 212, Javanegra Gourmet Atel ier,

Cie lo 37 in Yogjak ar ta and Barrels in Bal i . There are t wo other restaurant

Base -Base (Bal inese cuis ine) and Daun Muda (Palembang and Manado cuis ines) .
