T o ensure the highest quality standards set by the early childhood industry for safety, programming and staffing, Kama’aina Kids Preschools are licensed by the Department of Hu- man Services and sets the goal to be ac- credited by the various recognized Early Childhood Accreditation bodies that exist within the United States. All our preschools who can apply for accredita- tion have done so and have received the accreditation award. Our School Age division was awarded 6 new A+ sites this year bringing the to- tal number to 76 afterschool sites state- wide. With day camps and partnerships with the Hawaii Lifeguard Association and Na Kama Kai to keep the Junior Lifeguard program running this year, we are serving over 1,600 keiki for children ages 5 to 18 years this summer. Kama‘aina Reservations, a sub-service provided by the Environmental & Community division, has provided box office services to first the Modern American Circus and recently the All American Rodeo in Waimanalo. With premium online ticket purchasing and box office personnel for on-site events, Kama‘aina Reservations future is ready to support community events state wide. All proceeds benefit the He‘eia Learning Center at He‘eia State Park. Organized by our Board of Directors, our First Annual “Flavors by the Bay” Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at He‘eia State Park. “‘Flavors by the Bay’ will raise funds to build a He‘eia Learning Center, which will per- petuate Hawaiian culture and also serve as a visitors welcome center,” said Ray Sanborn, President of Kama‘aina Kids. “I am personally enthusiastic about this event, because He‘eia State Park is where Kama‘aina Kids started its first class in 1987 and it feels like we are back home.”
