Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB) areintended for the protection or wiringinstallations against both overloads andshort-circuit in domestics or commercialwiring installations where operation ispossible by uninstructed people.

Characteristics according to EN/IEC 60898-1

Magnetic releaseAn electromagnet with plunger ensuresinstantaneous tripping in the event of short-circuit. The standard distinguishes threedifferent types, following the current forinstantaneous release: type B, C.

Thermal releaseThe release is insulated by a bimetal strip incase of overload. The standard defines therange of releases for specific overload values.Reference ambient temperatures is 30 ºC.
