Creations with Anna Due to its popularity, we are increasing Anna's Watermark University class A.R.T. from 12 participants to 15 during the summer months. Remember, this class is a crowd favorite and fills up quickly so remember to sign up at the front desk to reserve your spot. * There is usually a waiting list so please don't be late.. On Friday, June the 7th, we will be introducing a new Watermark University Program, "The Amazing World of Art" with Elaine L. Elaine is one of our residents at the Town Center who enjoys painting and other crafts. Above is Elaine showing one of her favorite paintings entitled:"The Fisherman". Elaine's class will offer various options and levels of art such as painting on canvas, drawing on sketch pads or even something as simple as adult coloring. So come on out and find your inner artist . Elaine's art will also be on display at our Expressions Art Show. Sarah from Senior Helpers came to help out and brought some delicious shrimp cocktail for the event. The Community Life team dressed up in their show girl attire to add to the atmosphere. Joe Catando played the perfect gambling mix of music which added to the wonderful energy in the room making this another successful event. Speaking of events, we have a wonderful art show planned this month featuring our very own residents. On June 19th. we will have an amazing art show display from both the Town Center and Inn & Gardens. Anyone can bring their creative pieces to the show and it doesn't have to be sketches or paintings. Needle point, wood carving, photography etc. are all forms of art. Participants will have a chance to have their piece in our Expressions 2020 calendar. Casino Day Event 4 Summer Health Tips 1. Stay hydrated: Heat can be very dangerous. Staying well hydrated helps to reduce heat illness and it is also very important to acclimate to hot environments 2. Don't forget your sunscreen: Lather on broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen, daily, liberally, and don't forget to re- apply. 3. Don’t skip your exercise routine, just because it is sultry out: You may need to change where you exercise and avoid the peak heat and humidity, but don’t get lazy. 4. Watch for mosquitoes - especially at dusk and dawn: Be sure to clear out standing water, use insect repellent, fix broken screens, use EPA-registered insect repellents and spray your clothes (NOT skin) with permethrin Path to Well-Being At Watermark Woodbury Mews, it is not only the residents who thrive by joining in activities, programs, volunteering or just getting out and about, the staff thrive as well. It's great when everyone can have fun and enjoy creating and implementing the many events that we do. The Community Life team did a top notch job setting the stage for the casino event this year. Our residents are like our family too and it gives them great pride and satisfaction when we see them enjoying and having a good time during the events, programs and outings. Last year, Brandy from environmental services volunteered to be our Black Jack dealer and was looking forward to doing it again but unfortunately was unable to this year. It's team work like that which keeps us thriving and makes it all worth while.. Thriving
