OBITUARY
Adeline Peterson Adeline Hazel Peterson (nee Zimpel), 90, passed awaypeaceully on Friday, March 18, 2016 in Meridian, Idaho.
A memorial service was held at the First Lutheran Churchin Glasgow, Montana on Tursday, June 9 at 2:00 with Pastor
Scott Hedegaard officiating. Inurnment ollowed at the GlasgowHighland Cemetery.
Adeline was born on October 5, 1925 in PrincetonMinnesota to George Henry Zimpel and Wilhelmina ErnaKuether Zimpel. She grew up on the Princeton arm and at agenine helped raise her younger siblings afer her mother passedaway at age 36.
Adeline attended school in Princeton and Little FallsMinnesota and then worked as a typesetter or 3M and atelephone operator with Western Union in MinneapolisMinnesota and in Los Angeles, Caliornia. On June 10, 1950 Adeline married ex U.S. Marine EugeneAllen Peterson in Minneapolis. Tey moved to Montanawhere Gene worked or the Great Northern Railroad, (laterBurlington Northern) as a station agent. Tey lived or a shorttime in Glasgow, Harlem and Snowden, and then or 34 yearsin Richland, Montana. In 1989 they retired to Glasgow whereGene passed away in 1990. Adeline continued to live in Glasgowuntil 2012 when she moved to Meridian, Idaho to be near heramily. Gene and Adeline had three children, Steven born in 1951in Glasgow, Sally born in 1953 in Williston, North Dakota, andDon born in 1960 in Scobey, Montana.
Adeline was a devoted mother and homemaker and in1961 she also began to work outside the home as a clerk at theRichland Post Office and as the bookkeeper or Farmers UnionOil Co. (later Richland Farm Supply, then Cenex). She alsohelped orm the Richland 4H Club and Home DemonstrationClub and was a member o the Richland American LegionAuxiliary, and also served on the Valley County Election Board She was an active member o both the Richland LutheranChurch and the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow. She taughtSunday school and Bible School or 18 years in Richland, servedas Church reasurer and held the offices o President, Vice-President and reasurer in the ALCW (American Lutheran
Church Women) in Richland.At the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow Adeline served as
President, Vice President and Secretary o WELCA (Womeno the Evangelical Lutheran Church Association). She was theCommunity Chairperson and Coordinator o the Fort PeckCluster Womens Organization. She was also a member o theAid Association or Lutherans local branch where she served asSecretary/reasurer and Chairperson.
Adeline volunteered wherever there was a need and throughthe Church Visitation Program she visited the homebound, gavecommunion and provided rides to appointments. She enjoyed
participating in projects or Lutheran World Relie and made

Adeline enjoyed herinvolvement with theGlasgow Senior CitizensClub by helping with theBingo games and pancake
breakasts and the cardrecycling project. She heldnumerous offices there, aswell as Vice President o theMontana State Senior Citizens. She was named as GlasgowsSenior Citizen o the Year in 2000.
Adeline also volunteered at the Glasgow Chamber oCommerce and Pioneer Museum and Hospital Gif Shop andshe enjoyed keeping up with Genes railroad colleagues by beinga member o the Railroad Retirees.
Adeline was well known or her hospitality and or hostingmany amily gatherings. She always included her childrens
riends, or anyone in need o a amily, especially or theholidays. She was also well known or her baking, winning manyblue ribbons and Best o Fair awards at the N.E. Montana Fair.
Adeline enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, playing cards,Bingo, Scrabble and travelling throughout the US and Canadawith her amily and on many bus trips, and she especiallyenjoyed time spent with her three granddaughters and ourgreat grandchildren, who all brought much joy to her lie.
Adeline was preceded in death by her husband Gene and herbrother Wayne Zimpel.
Survivors include her children, Steven (Linda) o Meridian,Idaho, Sally (John) Flowers o Cranbrook, British Columbia,Canada, and Don o Haltom City, exas; three granddaughters,Kelly (Kevin) Olson, Jessica (Mark) Mills and Erin Peterson;our great-grandchildren, Emma, Madeline, Camden and Isaac,all o Meridian/Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Lloyd Zimpel o SanFrancisco, Caliornia and George (Colleen) Zimpel, o St. Paul,Minnesota and one sister, Mildred Neubauer, also o St Paul. Sheis also survived by sisters-in-law Cece ulberg and Pat Zimpelas well as numerous beloved cousins, nephews and nieces.

New research shows the problem with the decliningbee population may be due to increased cell phone usage. Daniel Favre, a researcher at the Swiss FederaInstitute o echnology has ound the signals causehoneybees to become disoriented, leading to their deathsHe discovered that bees made 10 times more noise when
there was a cell phone in use nearby, according to Digitalrends. Te noise, called worker piping is supposed to serveas a signal or the bees to leave the hive. When it is causedby cell phone signals, the bees just stay conused. Worker piping in a bee colony is not requent, andwhen it occurs in a colony, that is not in a swarmingprocess, no more than two bees are simultaneouslyactiveTe induction o honeybee worker piping bythe electromagnetic fields o mobile phones might havedramatic consequences in terms o colony losses due tounexpected swarming, said the report. Since honeybees pollinate 70 percent o the crops onthe planet, the problem is serious. Last year, beekeeperlost 42 percent o their colonies.
